the new NBA dresscode.
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2195141
basically d. stern says no "ghetto" wear allowed when on the bench as a injured player or during interviews.
i guess it makes sense since the players are technically employees who are working for a company who is trying to be professional.

Dress code is the NBA's way of saying please don't further ghettoize our white man owned league so that our fellow rich white men customers (fans, networks, and advertisers) don't take away our money.

its good for the league and the players. the people who say this is racist are ignorant. it will bring more money to the league and the players, along with endorsements. think about your jobs. unless you work in a clothing store, you can not dress exactly how you want. look at the yankees to facial hair policy

I wasn't saying that it's racist. Just that they don't want the image of being "ghetto" which is associated with how they were dressing with the head bands, giant t-shirts, etc. Didn't help that the fight from last year with the Pacers were players that wore head bands and/or made rap albums.
Honestly will this code bring more money? Last I remember, people watch sports for the product and quality of the game. Hmm, NFL players die of steroids, beat their wives, kill someone after they get their ass kicked in a bar fight (Ken Hamlin), but yet the NFL is still the #1 sport. Nobody cares about their image, obviously and we'll still buy NFL Ticket, go to the game, and make $1 million Super Bowl spots a bargain.

Season starts tomorrow. TNT is showing Denver at San Antonio then Dallas at Phoenix. Anyone want to venture a guess of the winners? I like San Ant and Dallas.
Check out some of my Fantasy Team
Duncan
Shaq
Hughes
Redd
A. Miller
Webber
Hinrich
J.R. Smith should follow up his late good year with a good year. I was trying to draft Deron Williams but he went too high.

Interesting match up tonight as my Heat take on Memphis. I'm sure Jason Williams will be looking to make Fratello regret trading him. Heat were flat in the pre-season so they might stumble a little.

Have you guys seen Michael Redd? He's going nuts. Dang I wish I could've picked up Cassell. He had an awesome night. If he stays healthy he'll be sick.
Already one guy out for the year and that's Nene. Stackhouse and Boozer (both in my league ) are out.

It seemed like sweetney had a decent game. but they are going to get handled by the better frontcourts in the league with just him and tyson chandler there, definatly not enough

Season's a month old.
Heaters look alright. Shaq will be back soon. Zo's keep his seat nice and warm by leading the league in blocks. Wade is Wade and J. Will is playing nice. He lit up is old team the other night.
