Congrats GS.

Would have liked to see it drag out to game 7

If I had to describe this Finals in three words, it would be entertaining as fuck. There was some insane talent on the floor tonight.

Glad it's over. Durant took the easy way out.

Ok, respect to LeBron though. I still don't like him, but despite losing he carried his team just like in the 2015 finals. Being the only player to average a triple double in the finals is insane.

Yeah this GSW team is insane. LeBron put up insane numbers and it just isn't enough.

Even if we transported MJ Prime to the current Cavs team could they beat GSW......

If you replaced Darren Williams with Michael Jordan, the Cavs would easily win.

If I'm running a team (like my Bulls) I would be tanking to hell right now. There is no chance that any team in the east wins 3 games in the finals. Reload over the next 2-4 years

Congrats GS! With even the tightest of defense, at times, it was still hard to stop them. The Golden State "Avalanche" was ridiculous! Glad Durant finally got what he wanted even though he jumped on the bandwagon to get it, instead of making a team for himself. The Cavs looked confused on defense almost all night. Weak side D, no help. Traps, no rotation. Boxing out, non-existent (like most teams anyway). The fact that Kyrie looked a little tight all game affected them on offense and Kevin Love couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat (trade talk? I think so)...

My only gripe of the finals was the poor officiating. Obviously you can't make every call, but if you are going to call it on one side of the court, please call the same foul on the other side. For the most part they did pretty well.

Loved KD getting the MVP

Now that we have final stats to use, I will make my last case for Jordan never facing a team as good as 2017 GSW (even though I said Finals, I will entertain the Pistons). Since I don't know which year you thought they were best, I went with 1988 Pistons.

Statistically, these Warriors are only second to the 1996 Bulls in overall performance, offense and defense. They are tied with the 1987 Lakers to barely edge those Bulls on offensive performance. I'm not seeing the Pistons anywhere near a G.O.A.T. discussion. Again, the only point is trying to compare Lebron's Finals performance to MJ's doesn't seem like a fair comparison this year.

^^^As I said...even if you replaced LeBron with MJ Prime...I doubt he can overcome the 2017 GSW.

Obviously if you add MJ Prime to Cavs team then it's a sweep for GSW...but yeah LeBron to MJ comparo is not gonna be fair. Plus back in MJ's days the offense could get away with WAY more shit than today's NBA rules with everything becoming a foul....

It's a fun discussion with many factors. I guess it's a bit like apples and oranges. My example, the Pistons, were more defensive-oriented than say, these up-tempo offense-driven Warriors.

I just know that MJ faced a similar challenge to LeBron...going through an entire Pistons team hellbent on stopping him. The difference for LeBron is that he has Irving, Love, and a deeper roster. I am not at all taking away from GS' dominance here.

Irving had a nice game but it wasn't one of this spectacular performance like game 4.....if he were able to explode then they had a chance...but otherwise the GSW is just too much.

I mean any other team that played the GSW would've been swept......

I have to wonder how much his tweaked body was affecting him. He missed 2 or 3 lay ins right at the end that he normally makes.

Kyrie was rubbing his back right before making free throws. Agree he might have tweaked it. He also played a ton of minutes though

He looked in all sorts of discomfort. That definitely didn't help the Cav's. Also K.Love was non-existent. Poor performance by the bench as well.

I think for the first time I was disappointed that The Finals were over. I just can't tell if that's because I want to see more insane performances/ability or if I feel an emptiness from a lack of close competition.
