Should be interesting this year...Warriors are now the "villains". I am just interested to see how that team will play...if they can co-exist, wow, look out.

Pre-season has been nice but certainly not a 73 win season.

Also, I'm curious to see the post-Rose/Noah Bulls. It'll be interesting to see two players I had such a dislike for in Rondo and Wade in Bulls jerseys.

McDermott hopefully can take a few steps forward. We'll see...Bulls should be competitive if they stay healthy. But, they aren't getting past the LeCavs.

Spurs just went about their business...and Pop sure knows how to plan a game against the Warriors. Noticed anytime Steph shot a 3er, he called timeout? Gave SF absolutely no chance to have any momentum.

They didn't lose to the Lakers. The Lakers kicked the shit out of them. Granted it's an early November game but still. I saw some of that game at the barber (NBA TV replay) and the Warriors interior D looks worrisome. Larry Nance Jr was just crushing the dunks inside. Very fun team to watch. I hope they get more games nationally.

People forget that Phil always did that kind of condescending talk back when he was coaching. He used to get under my skin when he talked about my Heat when I was a kid.

God I love JR Smith

J.R. Smith on giving up a dunk while leaving the floor to greet an opposing player: 'My bad' [Video] - LA Times

JR Smith might want to pick a better time to say hello to a buddy next time.

The Cleveland Cavaliers guard left the floor while play was in progress Tuesday night to share an off-court handshake and hug with Milwaukee’s Jason Terry, who was on the Bucks' bench.
Cleveland's J.R. Smith leaves the floor in the middle of game action to greet Milwaukee's Jason Terry.
The bizarre occurrence took place as Milwaukee was bringing the ball up the court and left the Bucks’ Tony Snell wide open for an easy dunk. When asked about the sequence after the Cavaliers’ 118-101 loss, Smith gave an equally bizarre response.

At first, he said, “I don’t even remember that.” When a reporter described it to him again, Smith said, “Oh, I didn’t even know I was in the game. My bad.”

Smith was wearing a hood over his head and what appeared to be a ski mask over most of his face during the interview.

“It’s my alter ego,” he said of the mask. “It was a gift from Ohio State, so I figured why not.”

Asked if the alter ego has a name, Smith simply responded, “Yeah.”

Asked what the name is, Smith replied, “I can’t tell you.”

Smith finished with six points, two steals and a blocked shot.

This might be fun

Ice Cube helping start 3-on-3 league with ex-NBAers, and it sounds awesome | For The Win

Ice Cube, soon-to-be former NBPA deputy executive director Roger Mason and investors are coming together to start a summer half-court 3-on-3 league called BIG3, according to The Vertical‘s Adrian Wojnarowski.

The teams will include retired NBA players as players and coaches. It sounds really awesome, and several players have already agreed to participate. Here’s more info from Woj’s story:
Plans include eight teams of five players – including an ex-player as coach, as well as a team captain – that’ll tour together from city to city starting in late June.

So far, retired NBA players Kenyon Martin, Stephen Jackson, Jermaine O’Neal, Rashard Lewis and Jason Williams are some of the players committed to play on teams, league officials said.

Jason Williams? The Jason Williams who has been showing off his moves and cooking dudes half his age in various tournaments since retiring from the league in 2011? Say no more.

Update: And Chauncey Billups!Another commitment for @icecube's 3-on-3 retired NBA players league: Chauncey Billups (@1MrBigShot) tells @TheVertical he plans to play.

— Adrian Wojnarowski (@WojVerticalNBA) December 23, 2016

Of course, this could go terribly and the games could be super slow and the shots could be ugly, but I think this is a fantastic idea that has real potential. There has been a push to add 3-on-3 basketball as an Olympic sport for a while now. People are interested.

Plus, it sounds like this isn’t just something Ice Cube decided to jump on recently and is just helping toss together haphazardly. Per Woj, Ice Cube “has been intimately involved in the planning, development and execution of the league’s start-up.” The actor and rapper explained what the inspiration behind this is:“I thought of this concept as a fan who got sick of seeing his heroes retire and not play anymore,” Ice Cube told The Vertical. “A lot of these guys can still play once they retire – just not the back-to-backs or four games in five nights.

“I started to look at three-on-three basketball and wondered, ‘Why isn’t this played on a pro level?’ It’s the most normal form of basketball. And from there it was like, ‘Yo, why don’t we make this happen?’

“Not only do we get a chance to see these guys keep playing, but we give guys who retired who still got some game – who don’t want to pick up a [microphone] on TV and who don’t want to go overseas to play … some of these guys still want a stage to play on.”

Yep, this is definitely something I would watch. What do you think?

And WTF with D-Rose going AWOL recently. What has happened to this guy...? He was just amazing and so likeable before and now, it's like he's 2 bits short of a byte or something. So, weird and bizarre.

I had heard Rose wanted Mike Conley money. Supposedly it was a holdout.

Anyone voted for All Stars? Here are my picks:

West: Durant, Cousins, Anthony Davis, Westbrook, Harden
East: Lebron, Butler, Giannis, DeRozan, Isaiah

Now in the news apparently Phil asked Melo if he wants to stay. Melo has a no-trade clause though.
