Lamar, lol......we all knew he was gonna do it sooner or later....

BTW....Jerry Sloan, interested in the Laker coaching job, says an anonymous source. Total rumor, but if there's smoke....well, you're probably getting high in Colorado or Washington.

http://www.hoopsworld.com/nba-pm-mik...-the-hot-seat/

The 2012-13 season is only one week old, but Los Angeles Lakers head coach Mike Brown is already on the hot seat. Kobe Bryant, Dwight Howard, Pau Gasol and Steve Nash are four of the best players in the NBA, future Hall-of-Famers who complement each other well. This star-studded group shouldn’t lose to depleted Dallas Mavericks or rebuilding Portland Trail Blazers. Wins aren’t celebrated, they’re expected. That’s the downside of coaching a juggernaut, just ask Erik Spoelstra.

When the Lakers lose, the finger of blame will be pointed at Brown. The Lakers defeated the Detroit Pistons on Sunday for their first win of the season, snapping a three-game losing streak and ending a five-and-a-half month drought. While the timely win kept Brown from losing his job, it doesn’t change the fact that his days in Los Angeles could be numbered. After the win, the always-blunt Bryant said that the players “were good,” but acknowledged that Brown really needed the win.

“I think it’s more of a relief for Mike than it is for anybody else,” Bryant said.

Fans have already started calling for Brown’s job and many of his players have started wondering if he’s the right person to lead the team. Behind closed doors, they’ve questioned Brown’s rotation and how players have been utilized through four games.

While the three-game losing streak increased the amount of frustration in the locker room, it first surfaced several months ago. After the Lakers acquired Howard and Nash, several veteran free agents wanted to sign for the minimum so that they could compete for a championship in Los Angeles. However, Brown made it clear that he wasn’t going to expand his rotation regardless of who signed. This scared away the free agents and kept the Lakers from further bolstering their roster, which frustrated many players.

Many within NBA circles believe it’s only a matter of time before Brown is fired. Jerry Sloan and Mike D’Antoni are two names that have surfaced as possible replacements for Brown.

“Jerry Sloan to L.A. by December 1,” one league source predicted. “Nash and Howard are the new Stockton and Malone. He wants a ring, not to mention the money. He didn’t seriously consider Orlando, Charlotte or Portland [openings] over the summer because he knew Los Angeles would open up.”

Brown has one of the toughest jobs in basketball. He’ll be blamed when the Lakers lose. His decisions will be second-guessed and he’ll have to answer question after question: Why is Bryant playing so many minutes? Why isn’t Howard getting more touches? Why isn’t Nash handling the ball more? Why did Jodie Meeks fall out of the rotation? Why is this team running the Princeton offense?

Having four future Hall of Famers in your rotation is every head coach’s dream, but only when things are going well. If the team struggles, as the Lakers have through four games, it can be nightmare. Fair or not, Brown will be on the hot seat and under the microscope all season long.

That would be great for jerry. Atleast if it does happen that he can have some better memory than the bitter retirement from the Jazz

The Heat look better this year than last year's team. They crushed the nets today.

For the amount of talent the Lakers have they are playing the worst in the NBA they are getting their asses kicked by an undersized Jazz team on their way to 1-4. I really the story above is true.

By how many points? If less than 9876134612841924141341234, I'm not impressed.

Our interior D has been horrific before last night's game. I mean we will figure it out but even George Karl and Stan Van Gundy said on Le Batard yesterday that opposing offenses were scoring in the interior much easier than last year.

Just the fact that Mike Brown has said he's not going to change his rotation to include new guys irks me. How the heck is Darius Morris getting playing time over Jodie Meeks?

Get Mike Brown out of here. Rotations are terrible and trying to implement the Princeton offense on a team with super stars just doesn't make sense.

There's a reason why it works for Princeton - its cause their players aren't of the caliber of big conference schools, so they need gimmicks.

The Lakers have Kobe, D12, Nash and Pau, no gimmicks are necessary.

At this point I'd rather see Mike Dantoni coaching the lakers.

That's exactly right....the Princeton is for Ivy Leaguers. Guys that aren't necessarily athletic, but supposedly pretty smart. Oh, and its for players that are of equal skill and height. The Lakers are smart, athletic, multi-skilled, and of differing heights.

It worked for the kings of the early 2000s, but if you look at that team, it was perfect for them.

BTW, BraveDemon, Kyrie's (Uncle Drew's) move was pretty nice, but look up God Shamgod's crossover. Dude's handle is disgusting...

^ Yeah, I remember my friends and I used to watch him back in the mid to late 90's (I think?) and tried to copy as much as we could. The guy is just simply gifted at dribbling; back then everyone was trying to do that Shamgod "fake-shuffle-sprint crossover".

The only move I was able to learn and incorporate (from watching clips of Shammgod) is the through the leg crossover to immediate behind the back crossover. Actually... now that I'm older and slower, that's my go to move to create separation for a jump shot... so sad.

What bothers me is everyone from the organization is saying be patient that it will take time. I realize that it takes time to perfect something but we are talking about star and superstar players way below average. Last night they shot like 34% had only 11 assists as a team and 19 turnovers against another team that before last night also had a record of 1-3. its just horrible.

In my opinion the powers that be should have never hired Mike Brown he showed in Cleveland he couldn't win a championship and the Lakers are all about winning championships so he definitely shouldn't have been chosen.

I have a new respect for Lebron knowing that he had to deal with an idiot like Bown for several years.

The Lakers' patience & new players line is dried up. They're 5 games in & only just above Detroit who haven't won anything yet. That old line barely held any validity seeing as the team they played was in the exact same situation.

The difference? Rick Carlisle is one the best coaches in the NBA, & Mike Brown is a man that will continue to leave a Brown stain on this superstar Lakers team.

When they were doing the player by player championship congratulations last year the only thing they could talk about with Turiaf was how he can speak many languages. Nothing about his "game".

Rumor has it Mike Brown's been fired

http://espn.go.com/los-angeles/nba/s...wn-source-says

Los Angeles Lakers coach Mike Brown has been fired after a 1-4 start to the season, a source tells ESPNLosAngeles.com's Ramona Shelburne.

It is not known yet who will take over for him, but a source indicated that it will either be assistant coach Bernie Bickerstaff or Chuck Person on an interim basis.

Sources had said earlier Friday that his job would be in jeopardy if the team did not perform well on its upcoming six-game homestand.

The Lakers have had a healthy Steve Nash in the lineup for only 1½ of their five games so far thanks to a leg injury, while fellow newcomer Dwight Howard has acknowledged that he's still recovering from the back surgery that brought a premature end to his 2011-12 campaign and knocked him out of the London Olympics. Kobe Bryant has also been playing through a foot ailment.
The Lakers are off to the worst start in the Western Conference despite carrying the league's largest payroll at just over $100 million, which would trigger an estimated luxury-tax bill at season's end of nearly $30 million.

Mike Brown is gone finally!!!!! This guy should just get a broadcasting job because coaching isn't his strong suit. To think that we passed on Rick Adelman to get this clown in the first place is unthinkable but at least we are taking a step in the right direction now.

It's likely a two man race between Jerry Sloan and Mike D'antoni for the Lakers job.

^^I would like to literally see a 2 man race between Jerry Sloan and Mike D'antoni to decide this.

Throw in Phil Jackson and his bad hips for shits and giggles.

Bam, pay-per-view event....

Or even better, I want the three of them to play 21 for the job. After all, three old hoopster's turned coaches should still be able to ball.

ALAN ALDA REPLACING PHIL JACKSON AT SCHWAB IMPACT

In a last-minute development, actor Alan Alda will replace famed basketball coach Phil Jackson as the keynote speaker on the closing day of the annual Schwab Advisor Services IMPACT conference in Chicago next week, according to Bernie Clark, executive vice president, national sales manager of Schwab Advisor Services.
Wonder what other appointment or commitment Phil might have to race off to....

Phil is the brain-dead choice, if he's willing to come back. But having left the Lakers twice now, I would be surprised if he takes the job.
