Is anyone else available? I'd drop him, unless you have a bunch of F/C to pick up the rebounding slack.

I'm able to keep Andrew Bogut (INJ) on my bench with no detrimental effect.

I have a F/C to back him up, problem is that i have a injury ridden team. I just got back Dirk, then this happens. I have Rubio, but he isn't even 60% healthy.

Here is what my team looks now. Im happy though i stole Grevis Vasquez though. He's my keeper and i got him in the 10th round.

I don't know. Bynum and Varejao are iffy on injuries. I might risk one of them for getting help. That's 2 bigs that are out for you.

Might be good to look at teams that have injuries at the center position and see who is replacing them, at least for a short fix.

Hmm. What's the biggest surprise this season: That the Lakers are clearly underachieving or that the Clippers are a shoe in to make an appearance in the Western Conference Finals?

And Doom/Asianspec, I don't know what's going on with Miami, but a couple of strange losses as of late...

actually i picked up bynum on the waivers. so im hoping i betted right on this since he is on his final year of his contract and needs to make a impression if he wants to get paid. One reason why i don't want to drop varejao is that people hoard players in my league.

It is a surprise with the Lakers, but i knew it went downhill when D'Antoni was named the coach. Bernie Bickerstaff did a better job but didn't get a chance.

As for the Heat, there is no sense of urgency in the team as like last year. but its been like this last year as well. i see them bouncing back.

AsianSpec, cool on the Bynum bet. Ya, I wouldn't drop Varejao either if you're other guys are going reach and wait for him to recover.

As for the Lakers, I'm surprised, but considering the circumstances, I'm not surprised. The injury bug has really hit the team, and I think we all said for the team to be successful, it had to have little to no injuries.

Nash/KB/Metta/Pau/Dwight have only actually been together for 7 games total. Add the coaching change mid-season and you have no way to develop chemistry and the 'team mind'. Phil Jackson/Red Auerbach/John Wooden would have had a tough time too.

It does surprise about the Heat though...and the Bulls being as good as they are is surprising too. IMO, they are punching above their weight.

The biggest surprise and sweeping under the rug is Golden State. They are 22-12 and are 2-1 against the clips. Lets see where they will be at end of the season.

Yea. I love swingmen, just because of the purpose of injuries and have more flexibility in the team. Kinda pissed, because my team is very underachieving right now and can do alot better

How is it that the Bulls can beat the LeHeat and the Knicks but get their @$$es handed to them by the Suns...?

Nash is a awesome person. I feel bad for him because its almost the end of his career and he's going through this. He did not expect to get this bad of a deal.

@ Knicks...From CNNSI:

Every professional sport operates in its own sphere of insanity. There are things that go on at the game’s edges that simply wouldn’t make any sense in any other context, and yet within the framing of the game are either understood or expected. Players get deeply offended when their victorious opponents score at the end of a game that’s already been decided. Some squabble with their coaches or teammates over the pettiest of problems. Superstitions are assumed, a lack of perspective is implied and hilarity is inevitable.

Within the weird world of pro basketball is an even stranger subset of oddity, reserved for that much-scrutinized team doing business in the sport’s alleged mecca. The Knicks are forever on their own plane of absurdity, as James Dolan and those he employs find ways to outdo themselves year after year. The latest: In response to some trash talk between Kevin Garnett and Carmelo Anthony in a game last week, Dolan tasked a few MSG employees with recording all that was said by and said to Anthony on the floor.

That bit of news was first reported by Dave D’Alessandro of the Newark Star-Ledger, and has since been confirmed by ESPN New York. The New York Post actually has a photo of one of the creeping sound technicians, adding another layer of lunacy to an already outrageous story. No franchise in sports knows how to make a big deal out of a non-issue like the Knicks, and in this case Dolan has made the fact that Anthony heard some words he didn’t like as an occasion to record his star’s every on-court utterance. It’s an incredibly disproportionate response to a subplot that otherwise would have had its turn in the news cycle before being swept under the rug. There are sensitive and volatile players across the league, but Anthony is apparently the only one that demands careful on-court monitoring — or at least the only player with an owner foolish enough to see trash talk-induced psychological damage as a problem worthy of the organization’s time and resources.

Bulls Win!!

Luol Dengerous does it again with the game winning shot against the Raptors. The Bulls almost blew a 19 point lead and win it in overtime. Boozer had another great night with 36 points.

Lakers have signs of life, but they just don't have anyone that can stop franchise wings. Durant and LeBron had big games against them.

heat need a big or 2 though....rebounding and 2nd chances are critical in the playoffs.

well in the start of the game, 4 turnovers for 4 dunks. 16 turnovers in the half. Communication is definitely a problem.

..either that or just old. they'll beat young inexperienced teams, but they won't beat veteran athletic teams unless they get some youth.

Yeah I think its being old that's the problem, the Lakers in their current form won't beat anyone in the playoffs that if they even make it. I love Nash but he's a defensive liability, not only that he's not using his offensive ability to make the other team guard him. D12 is just not there yet but he's getting there, Pau's game has fallen off a cliff I have seen this happen to many players over the years and its sad because he will never be the same player he was 2009 and before. The Lakers need more toughness mentally and physically it definitely doesn't help that D'Antoni is their coach because he doesn' inspire toughness in his players.

The Clippers are definitely a surprise I thought they might fall apart after letting their GM leave after last season but they have actually gotten better that being said I definitely don't believe for one second that they can get to the Western Conference Finals but who knows I could be in for another surprise but I just don't see it.

My personal opinion. I don't think its age at all. Look at the Spurs. The are one of the oldest teams and they are winning every year. The Knicks are really old this year and they are doing very well despite the injuries. Like ive been saying before its D'Antoni and lack of communication. As much i hate the say it, looks like Bynum was a better fit for the Lakers from what we are seeing from this year.

If lack of communication also means lack of coaching your absolutely right but its also lack of effort many times it looks as if they don't care until the its too late to come back and win.

Your right the Spurs and the Knicks have old rosters but the Lakers have the oldest starting lineup of the 3 teams (32.8 yrs old) and that is only taking into consideration the age number not the mileage on their players. Kobe alone has played almost as many total games as Jason Kidd has in his career and he's four years younger but probably more minutes played overall.

Lakers are done. I have a strong feeling they won't make it to the play offs. It's a shame but they really got nothing good going on. They are not consistent. Like the commentators said during the game, every time the Lakers take a step forward, they take two steps back right after.

i agree that Kobe has more mileage than most players. Yet he is still having a MVP season. I just don't see D'Antoni taking any team to a title if he doesn't believe in defense is a priority.

It's interesting that the Lakers are struggling this much given they have so much talent assembled...

A team that is Rose-less took it to them yesterday? Wow.

^ Not to add salt to the wound.. but the Bulls were also Deng-less right?

Yeah, the Lakers should consider this season a loss and tank it for a lottery pick.

When the Lakers lost to the Raptors, I just sank. I mean I knew the Lakers were not gonna win it this year, but for some reason I had hopes because of the talent that they had on the team. But in the end they ALWAYS lose it when they finally do something good. Just like yesterday where they lead and then lost by 12 points shortly after.....

Stephen A. is wrong about trading D12 the Lakers need to keep him but if their going to trade anyone its Pau for several reasons. D'Antoni has proven with (Knicks & Lakers) to be a one dimensional coach he only knows one way and can't adjust to anything else therefore he needs to go. D12 has a lot of reasons to stay in L.A. he can get more $ from the Lakers , he will be the main star in about a year or so, he's trying to break into hollywood so what better place to be than L.A., but if he does leave then that will teach Jim Buss a lesson then hopefully the Buss Family will get someone else to run the Lakers.

I agree that Pau needs to be traded more than Dwight.

Sorry but to me, Pau is a straight up pussy. There are so many times when he is wide open to shoot the short jumper but instead he passes it to someone else. I don't know how many times I yell at the TV because of him doing that. Also when he posts up, he's soooo sloppy on handling the ball. And don't get me started on his rebound. It's like he's afraid to get his nail polish ruined when he rebounds the ball. He needs to grip the damn thing and not tap it to himself.
