The whole point of Gordon going was so that cap space would be available to pursue LeBron, LeWade, or LeBosh...
Obviously, that plan tanked. Who knew LeWade would play everyone for fools and lure Bron and Bosh to Miami?

im still kinda shocked because at the end of the season, we didnt have the cap space for lebron. but they all took paycuts to make it work.

wade did whatever he could to win championships. you can't blame him. Honestly wherever those 3 had end up, that team wouldve been hated on. If wade left, he wouldn't have been welcomed back.

Tonight is our first pre-season game. OMG if we lose that's it, we won't make the playoffs.
You guys should seriously follow Ira Winderman and Michael Wallace on Twitter to get some great insight on the team. Especially with how much interest there will be on them this year. Very good writers. Ira's an excellent writer and Wallace just got hired by ESPN from the Miami Herald.
I'm seriously considering blocking clpassenubye from seeing his posts. I've never done that before but it just seems your posts come across as obnoxious hate with "facts". I don't mind you rooting against my team but geez it's painful to read your posts sometimes. Good luck to your Lakers btw.
FYI, the Heat don't ask the reporters to come. On the first day of camp there were like 70 reporters there. Only 9 went on the last day of camp. Mind you there was tons of military security and searches since they went to the base. This camp is like 3 hours away from Miami. If you're pissed about the hype, blame ESPN and the other sports stations. Of course if you put together a team like that will there be tons of coverage. The same would've happened if the Knicks, Nets, or TWolves got these guys. Riley didn't put this team together for tickets, ratings, nor endorsements. He wants to win.

I know the Heat will be good that's a fact the things that bother me is them saying they are arguably the best trio to ever play together while never having played one game. Or people saying they will break the Bulls record for most games won in a season.
I am a Lakers fan thru thick or thin but at the same time I'm a basketball fan and I can appreciate good play from any team. The fact that the Lakers have been in the championship the last 3 years and won twice while not losing any main components and Boston having been there 2 out of 3 years and then getting better during the offseason leads me to believe they both have better chances of winning than the Heat since most of the Heats players will have to make a lot of adjustments in learning a new system, getting used to everyone's personalities, also get used to new coaches and coaching styles, and sometimes playing new roles that they didn't play with other teams.

^Yeah that's cool. Your points in the above post are definitely valid. And I see where the GM's are coming from. It's hard to vote against something that works. Naturally the majority will go with what they know. We heard the same thing a few years ago before we won with Shaq.
I mean I could see where people would get annoyed of them calling themselves one of the best trios ever on the same team. I personally don't see how they can't be argued but yeah you can't say they are until it's all said and done. Lots of people like to speculate but believe it or not, I don't recall myself posting here and seriously stating that we are even the favorites for the title. Like any other fan I am concerned about their weaknesses so we'll see if that weighs them down this year.
Naturally because of the non-Heat fans I changed my AV accordingly.

The heat are going to be good by personnel alone. Coaching is decent, but Spoelstra's experience in the playoffs is lacking relative to his possible competition. Still, that talent level....
The Lakers, as much as I am a diehard, DO have competition in the West. Dallas, Oklahoma, might be better than last year. I don't think Denver's where they were for the past 2 years. I think Houston might be worth considering because they have good size to contend with the Lakers inside and can counter Kobeef.
If the summer is an indicator of what's to come, at least this season will be interesting before the lockout.

I can't wait for the regular season to start so we can see how things actually turn out. Although I'm a Lakers fan I'm interested to see how Durant and Westbrook and the Thunder overall play improves because of their international experience. In that GM poll most voted for Durant as being the MVP this coming season. Well see.

^^I do too. I like those guys...not when they play the Lakers of course, but still, fun to watch.
Interesting to see the Celtics and Nets play. Well, sorta. Shaq in a Celtics jersey is funny to watch. When he was more athletic, Shaq was a little more agile with his weight. Now he can't really control himself and tends to foul more.

Gilbert Arenas fined $50K for faking injury...
The Washington Wizards fined guard Gilbert Arenas $50,000 for faking a knee injury on Tuesday, several media outlets reported.
Arenas said his knee was sore Tuesday morning and did not play in that night's game against Atlanta.
After the game Arenas told reporters he had faked the injury so guard Nick Young could get more playing time. Young scored 24 points against the Hawks. The team fined Arenas on Wednesday.
After Wednesday's practice, Arenas first said he wasn't talking, then appeared before reporters offering a halfhearted apology for his actions.
"I screwed up again, so I just want to say sorry," he said. "I wasn't really thinking that this was going to be another media outburst. It's like everything I do now, someone, tit for tat, tries to blow it out of proportion."
Arenas didn't start Thursday against Milwaukee, but suffered a groin injury just three minutes after coming into the game in the first quarter.

You go, MJ!
From ESPN...
From ESPN...
Michael Jordan helped the Chicago Bulls win six championships.
But Jordan told USA Today his success offensively may have been greater under today's NBA rules.
"It's less physical and the rules have changed, obviously," said Jordan, who was promoting NBA 2K11 video game. "Based on these rules, if I had to play with my style of play, I'm pretty sure I would have fouled out or I would have been at the free throw line pretty often and I could have scored 100 points."

MJ was great but he would'nt score 100 in todays game. It's easy for him to say that now that he doesn't have to prove it . What he said about the rules is true but he forgot to mention the current players are bigger, faster and more athletic on the whole than players in his era. Anything is possible but I doubt it because he was always the main focus of the opponents defense that being said he would have to forget his team and take every shot. Keep in mind his career high was 69 and that came in an overtime game. I think his first statement about fouling out was more likely. It's good to dream though.

NBA is back! It's going to be a long interesting season especially with the potential lockout looming after the season and the effects it will have now on some players. I'm hoping the CBA will get worked out but with David Stern talking about contraction and players salaries reducing by 1/3 I'm not that optimistic.

Everyone calm down, its a long season. However, I will say that the Celtics big 3, of similar hype, had a better game 1 back in 07-08.
Like Dom put more simply, one team looks like its core and system has been together for a long time, the other hasn't even had a chance to gel and is fighting injuries. For MIA's sake, I hope they have a better offensive plan than get the ball to one of the Heat 3 and get out of the way/kick to shooters. Team defenses are much better these days at guarding isolations and good teams won't turn it over enough for LeWade to get out and run.
Boston looks ahead of schedule with their defense, but I think they're offense will struggle at times like last year.
B E A U tiful ring ceremony at Staples.....classy the way the players each introduced themselves.

Yeah I'm really not that worried. Sure I was upset because you want to win all your games and 9 points in the 1st. The fact that we had the talent and ability to nearly come back (LBJ went nuts) against one of our toughest competitors on such a horribly played game speaks volumes to me.

But, otherwise, no more than 5. If the Heat's record is anything worse than 77-5, they are of the suck...title or not.
