But don't get me wrong, the Lakers are probably the best team in the Leage, but love the development of the Bulls. This year reminds me of the Bulls in 88 and 89.... good.. but not good enough (YET).

"not sure I would base all my decisions off of a shoot first point guard. At the very best he's a top 5 point guard, considering were talking D-Will, Rondo, CP3, Nash...then Rose."
And to be certain, a truly great point guard will make whatever teammate he has, be it prolific scorers or not, to be better than the sum of their parts. He'll utilize the system he's in to beat teams with his own scoring or with others.
I don't think Rose is any better than those guys yet because he hasn't mastered utilizing his teammates or his system yet. Sure, his athleticism makes up for alot of that, but the point guard position is a mental game and is the most team oriented position in basketball.
Don't get me wrong, he impresses me every time I see him play and he's one of my favorite players. I'm critical cuz I like him and I appreciate the Bulls. He's just not there yet for me though I do assume he'll get there in a year or 2. But beating Derek Fisher off the dribble and throwing an escape pass after a drive isn't all there is to being a point guard or the primary ball handler.

^^ Can't wait til they get Bynum back, Pau got manhandled by Noah today (relatively speaking). Noah's very good.

I guess i'm not a typical clipper fan, cause i'll still root for the lakers, and try and catch most of their games too, but rooting for the underdog is always more fun.
I'm still young, and one day it'll all come together for us.

^^Shannon Brown has been good off the laker bench.
That said, does anyone want a Machine (Sasha Vujacic)? He's got good hair and we'll throw in Maria Sharapova....we'll throw in a Luke Walton too....

haha, haven't been on these forums in a long time. Glad to see someone is representing the clippers. It's definitely tough being a clippers fan. Hopefully times are changing, DTS has shown to be opening the pocketbook a bit more in the last few years, and if anything he's bound to get old eventually

I don't see where I said or defined 'true' point guard, so I don't really see where there is a problem.

So, Gordon could not be kept either.
Obviously, that went south as the LeGroup played everyone and just used the teams as bargaining chips to get together in South Beach.

I miss his explosive scoring, but don't miss his poor defense and shot selection. The Bulls always counted on him to take the last minute shot and most of the time it never worked. He just is too small and undersized for a 2. But bottom line is the Bulls and everyone else was waiting for the 2010 free agency circus. Ben was commanding too much money and they couldn't afford to keep him and still try to get Lebron, Wade, Bosh, Johnson, etc.

Kirk was too pricey. And honestly, the Bulls were playing the salary cap game too in hopes of signing one of the BIG TWO AND A HALF (of either LeBron, LeWade, or LeMiniMe)...

Yeah, Boozer was basically "worse case scenario." But really, low post scoring is one of the biggest weaknesses the Bulls have had, so he helps there. Boozer is a solid 20/10 guy. Just hope he doesn't get into anymore fights with his ex-wife, hits his hand against a wall in rage, and then makes up a story how he tripped over laundry.

And in hindsight, I think he's not a bad fit with Noah and Rose. At least his ego is seemingly smaller...

anyway, I agree with you. Chicago does need some help down at the post to create more offensive instead of Rose just doing all the work. I have Boozer in my fantasy team, so I do hope that he can contribute the way he was in Utah.

One problem with Boozer is his health. If he stays healthy then I see a bright future in Chicago.

I'm not saying Boozer is a bad player. I respect his game.... he is one of those few 20/10 guys. I was laughing because Chicago went through all that trouble (salary cap and trades) trying to get Lebron or Bosh, but ended up with Boozer.

Oh well. LeBron's loss.

I think he's doing a great job with who he has to work with. I mean seriously, look at yesterday's game. We really have no one to help Rose other then Noah and Gibson. Everyone else is either a non-factor or inconsistent. Regardless of how he gets his assists, he still gets them. Secondly, Rose is not the drive and "escape pass" type player. When he beats his man and is in the paint, the majority of times he will take it to the hole. Although he's top 10 in the league with assists, his role right now is to be "the man" and the Bulls rely on him for points. Hoping when Boozer comes back, he can finally get some relief and doesn't have to take as many shots as he does. I will take him over any point guard right now, other then maybe CP3.
I do think he's a drive and/or kick player (if that's less offensive sounding), never said that was bad. But all offense is based of his drives. He's still developing his jumper. He doesn't get those hockey assists show me he can not only be the offense, but run an offense. So to me, he's missing that higher level of understanding his team and relying on himself. And there are decent guys in Chicago, IMO. Anyways, this is splitting hairs, agreed? He's fun enough to just sit back and watch.

He claims some freak accident at home- He tripped over laundry and broke a metacarpal? Then the next day apparently his wife files for divorce. Highly suspicious. lol
