The only marketable player the Nets have is Richard Jefferson who signed a long term extension. Alonzo is trying to come back (again), but I think he shouldn't risk his health and just live a normal life...

He should leave well enough alone and enjoy his retirement. There's no need to comeback anyway, his contract is guaranteed and he'll be coming back to a crappy team.

It looks like Vince Carter won't be dealt to the Orlando Magic any time soon.

''There just aren't many scenarios you could draw up where we'd be a better team in acquiring him,'' Magic General Manager John Weisbrod told the Orlando Sentinal, ''not when you factor in whom we would have to trade. I can say in no uncertain terms, we would not trade Steve Francis for Vince Carter.''

The Raptors and Magic have had preliminary talks about Carter; however, the Magic do not want to part with Francis and the Raptors want another all-star.

''The more I'm around him, the more I'm a Steve Francis guy,'' Weisbrod said to the Orlando Sentinal. ''Don't get me wrong, Vince is an unbelievable athlete, but I'd rather have Steve Francis. Steve is a warrior.''

Carter announced last week that he wanted to be traded away from the Raptors. Carter, who is from Daytona Beach, likely won't be heading to Florida's other team either. Miami Heat President Pat Riley also expressed little interest last week in Carter.

I would'nt want him either.

Last week when Pat Riley was asked if he had any interest in Carter he replied "No, we're looking for toughness"

Vince Carter

All these NBA players are big spoiled babies, and VC is just another glaring example of that. Between this VC stuff, and the NHL lockout I am completely turned off by professional sports right now.

Give the NFL a shot, the season just started up and there are interesting storylines all around. All indications from the NHL owners point to a prolonged league shutdown. It's a sad situation when some teams actually prefer to shutdown rather than putting a team on the ice and losing money.

That's exactly what MLB games look like during the regular season. During the playoffs, the amount of excitement actually reaches the level that you would enjoy from watching a Golden Girls marathon.
