I think its hit me more and im sure Doom as well being both native South Floridians and knowing how much he meant to people. I mean people came to see him despite the horrible owner in Loria, but people gave in to see him. I think its so ironic that how many times he risked his life coming here and even risking it for his mother that fell off the boat/raft, but to pass away from a boating accident later on.

His 2014 season was nearly automatic.

I scooped him up in a keeper league when he first came up too actually, been a fixture on my team every since. I watch most of his starts on TV during the year too, I hadn't seem him that locked in since that 18 K night honestly.

Well, of course, ESPN had to pour salt by showing the stats of how teams have fared in the WS after losing game 1. It's quite favorable to the Aboriginals.

Edit: On a more serious not, Cubs played a great game. Didn't think this would be easy for either team. Interesting stat for you, the Indians haven't lost 4 in a row at any point this year.

Crazy...Jose Fernandez apparently had coke and booze in his system at the time of death.
That's really unfortunate if it led to the tragic accident.

Until the last out of the game tonight is made with the Indians in the lead I won't unclench. The Cubs had the best record in baseball for a reason this year, and anything can happen, but holy shit, this might actually be happening. I cried as a kid in '97 when Nagy gave up the winning run in extras (and Jose Fucking Mesa gave up the tying runs in the 9th), and as cool as the Cavs winning was, the Indians have always been and will always will be my favorite team.
All this being said, even if he Cubs don't win this year, they have the an amazing roster and will be back in the next 3 years at least once, and as long as they aren't playing the Indians again, I will be rooting for them when that comes around, they, and their fanbase, deserve a title too.
