Saw that.

And Gary Carter died today...have never read a singe bad thing about him.

It was, however, kinda sad reading about how his former teammates felt about him and unwarrantably treated him (D. Gooden and D. Strawberry, in particular). Hope they made their apologies years ago, and even if so, I hope they feel like crap right now.

Pretty typical though...the nice family man dies at age 57 while worthless scum like those two and others live on

Ryan Braun’s 50-game suspension overturned

http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news;_yl...raunsuspension

Kinda BS if its true it was only overturned because of a technicality. Oh well, good for Milwaukee fans I guess.

Already players that were suspended telling Buster Olney that they will appeal their suspensions. Pandora's box is opening?

I really hoped that there was a scientific reason why Braun would win his appeal. I just have a lot of doubts the he was entirely clean.

MLB and the players union has to have agreed on a document regarding storage of a sample when it cannot be shipped. If the courier followed the guidelines outlined by that document then I think it's BS that he got off and I can understand why MLB is pissed.

If it is a case of tampering then show us the proof as to why the sample was tampered. IMO improper cannot lead to synthetic testosterone showing up in a sample. High levels or low.....it should not be there.

I really want to believe him but I will always doubt that he was clean.

Agree on everything. I haven't liked anything I've heard about the whole situation

C'mon. The owner of the team he plays for is also the commissioner of the game!

It does smell foul though I have to agree. But whatever, this PED-era will never seem to end now that HOF voting with the prime suspects are on the way next year...

Fixed.

I think that MLB really wanted to win this case. Imagine the deterrence factor you get from banning the reigning MVP.

Zimmerman Signs 6 Year/$100 Million Extension With Nats...

http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?...s_mlb&c_id=mlb

If healthy he is a damn good 3rd baseman. You can pencil him in for 22-25 HR, 85-90 RBI and a .280 BA.

This is going to make it impossible for the METS to keep Wright.

Zumaya Done For The Year

http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?...s_mlb&c_id=mlb

Not as important. I heard he's considering ending his career.

Well, I've never been a fan of huge, long-term contracts for obvious reasons, but if you're gonna do it, at least sign a player like Zim that is homegrown and basically the face of the franchise. Like you said though, if only he can stay healthy.

Sucks about Zumaya. One of those guys you can't help wondering "what if" about their career

$10 million of his contract is deferred as the personal services portion of the deal.

I was reading this earlier about Zimmerman's contract. A lot of guys, including Pujols, are signing Personal Services Contracts. They've been around for a while, but seem to be getting more popular now.

Was curious to see what exactly it was and looked it up:

A lot of players do that. I think it is a positive for the sport.
