Finally something to like about baseball; Strasburg, 14 strikeouts, ZERO walks in 7 innings, in his debut. Only six other pitchers have done that since 1969. Go Nats!!!

This Strasburg dude is Alexander Ovechkin of pitching.

edit: It would be really exciting, if baseball was a sport and not just a past time.

From what I hear this kid's delivery mechanics are insane and he could last a long time. Next Nolan Ryan?

Costas was ready to buff his Cooperstown bust. It was quite annoying.

I was like, 'Calm the fuck down. Let's wait until his tenth start at least before he needs to write his acceptance speech.'

Kid looked good. Strong strategics starting him against the 2nd to last in runs scored and batting average Pirates. I was hoping to see him against the Reds this past weekend.

Didn't hockey almost shut down recently due to lack of interest?

Actually he's going to Cooperstown, this game will be displayed there.

You know what I meant. It was hard to understand him at points. Thankfully, Smoltz was there to pull Strasburg's cock out of his mouth.

i was at that game yesterday and seeing him hit that was easily one of the coolest things i have ever seen at fenway.

i said to the person next to me this is Nava's time to shine when he was walking up to bat and then bam!

He is MLB's golden child. His first loss will be everyone's fault but Strasberg's.

I wonder why the Yankees are always brought up by the haters?

Seems they think about them more than their fans.

Since you brought them up, Tied for the best record in baseball & first!!!!!!!!!

^so what if we're haters? it's a part of baseball culture. For example the Honda Civic. Some people LOVE the Civic some people HATE the Civic...you seem so hell bent on trying to justify why people cannot hate on a baseball team, especially your Yankees. Why are you so sensitive? and it's more or less true. Yankees go out and get whomever they want. It's THEIR baseball culture like how the Pirates are always trading away their talent to shed payroll. That's why they are the Yankees. 27 world series champions is not easy without some sort of dominating culture...getting the best players, paying the money etc. You think everyone on this planet agrees to their practices?

Honestly, you make this thread really sour. You can't have a good chuckle and laugh with us about your beloved Yankees and always have to go against us, the rest of us meaning baseball fans. You really dont know what being a "fan" is about do you? I have many Yankee fan friends and even though we butt heads once in a while, they are intelligent fans and appreciate the game and other teams. They know the Yankees are either loved or hated whereas you only go down that 1 way street making you look closed minded. One characteristic that other sports fans hate.

So dude, chill out. Learn how to interact with your fellow baseball fans. If not, go to http://www.baseball-fever.com and pour your heart out there.

WOW~!

First:

Are you ok? Did you hurt your fingers? Your keyboard?

Do you feel better getting all that out?

Second:

THANK YOU!

You have proven my point so much better than I possibly could have.

Me chill out? I have posted no multi paragraph diatribes, lost my temper, nor told anyone how to behave.

My last post was initiated due to the fact no one was talking about the Yankees and someone brought them up. Very much like the last time I posted.

The Yankees are a baseball team, that is all they are. They are not this big bad monster some people have made them out to be.

They are a business, they take in money and pay it out.

I am not sensitive, I find it truly amusing the way people spend so much energy hating a baseball team. I appreciate the lols I get from posts like yours and conversations with people of a like mind as you.

I hope you are able to resolve your deep seated anger without going off like that again, really man, it is not good for you.

Chill out!

I don't see haterade here. Yanks typically sign the highest paid free agent SP's (aka buy) so take it as a compliment, cabrio. You're coming across a little defensive. I'd love to take out the yankees in his quote and put the Marlins.

Fail for Marlins management for passing out vuvuzelas to 20,000 fans at last night's Rays/Marlins game. Watched about 3 innings and then gave the remote to the wife Hopefully, nobody else jumps on this stupid idea.

Yeah, nice inter-league play schedule you've enjoyed over the last week...
Cubs, Pirates and Nationals - some real gems there.

Meanwhile, we've had to play Atlanta, Colorado and Philly.

Wow way to resurrect!

And btw, last night the D-Backs announcers said the Yankees were the face of baseball.
