Well, I was right about the Reds scoring only 1 run today.

Not my fault the Mets lineup can only manage a pathetic 2 runs against them tho. Nevertheless, a win is a win. Mets'll sweep. Reds will start the season 0-3.

Meanwhile, Cubs'll sweep and they'll start the season with a 3 game lead over the Reds. BTW, where's Margesschottman111...?

We shall see. I think the Mets really need to start taking advantage of opportunities and score runs in order to win this season.

I thought they moved him where he's supposed to be....the middle... We'll see how well he does this year though. Didn't do too bad today

One game means squat...he does not have the plate discipline to be a leadoff man.

Put it this way: a lead-off hitter doesn't go Sammy-Sosa-swinging-for-the-fences and the way the ChiSox choked against the Dodgers in the playoffs last year was enough for me. Soriano is going to fail, fail, and more fail at the top of the order.

Because the Twins were sucking big time on all the lemons last night. They need to burn their '82 throwback uniforms.

I'm here and I'm ranting thank you very much

I don't think this is our year, but next year when some of these young guys mature we will be a solid contender (I can't believe I'm saying that and meaning it).

Oh and I would start bitching about Dusty Baker, but you guys don't want to hear it and what's the point anyways

I think if we have a slow start he'll be gone by the All-Star break

A bit premature. But he did shut down a Mauer-less Twins team last night.

Hey is that Wakamatsu the manager and the trainer?

After watching him the WBC, he seems to just be NASTY this year.

Not sure if he the trainer too. I did see him sprint over to Felix after he came up limp when his cleat got snagged in the rug. But, after all of the ankle injuries he has had, you need to keep your crown jewel copesedic.

All predictions are premature. I'll never understand the sports world's preoccupation with them.

That said, King Felix looked bad ass last night, and if he can keep his head straight he definitely has the talent and stuff to win the Cy. Felix's biggest enemy is himself. He was dealing last night on a bum ankle.

Looks like the Giants-Brewers are going to be pushed back until 4-5pm today, if they play at all. Big storm rolling through SF.

^And they looked good getting there. As usual, pitching will be their big bugaboo. If they get that, they'll be tough.

GOD! The M's pen sucks.

Bottom of the 9th, up by 2, 2 outs, bases empty. What do you do? Walk the bases loaded? Seems logical.

Looks like Morrow is going to have trouble with lefties. All 8 balls to Kubel and Buscher were outside.

Hopefully the Twins can smack around Silva tonight.

Morrow looked great for two batters, then his command just deserted him. He's finding out that closing is harder than it looks. He had similar struggles at times last year.

They looked great up until 2 outs in the ninth. Corcoran and Aardsma did a great job.

Corcoran is nasty. I remember the Twins couldn't hit him last year. I hope his arm is tired for the next 2 games.

Lol. They may never live that one down. How does a perenially pitching-starved franchise let those two go?

I still want Sherrill and Putz back.

And while were at it, bring back Sleepy Jones.

Yeah, me too. That was easily one of the worst trades in M's history. Jones is poised for a breakout year this season, and Sherrill has blossomed into a solid closer. In the meantime, Bedard looks like he's sleepwalking through every start.

Could you imagine the outfield with Jones, Ichiro, and Griffey.

Speaking of the M's. I am going to a couple of their games next month. May 4/5. Never been to SAFECO before, I am going to try and work in a tour of the ballpark, since I work for the company who built it.

That'll be sweet. I'm catching two of the three games against the Giants at the end of May. You will love the place. Definitely get there early so you can really soak the place up. A tour sounds like a great way to do that. It's a special ballpark.

Nice avie, BTW.

More Safeco: One of my favorite things about the park, besides it being one of the best baseball venues ever, is how beautifully integrated it is in the surrounding city infrastructure. It is so cool to just walk up to the park at street level and just walk inside and see the field. No lung busting hike, it's just right there. Step in, grab a beer and enjoy some big league baseball.
