Just read the entire excerpt from from the soon-to-be published book about Bonds and his doping on CNNSI...
Wow. It almost makes me feel kinda sad for the guy...but, almost.

I don't have an opinion on performance enhancing for baseball but Bonds did NOT cheat. The stuff he was taking was not banned by baseball. Baseball is also at fault due to their lackadaisacal drug policy (before Congress). Just clarifying this but not giving my opinion on the subject.

Don't steroids require some sort of schedule while you're taking them? Isn't the offseason too short to get an effective result?

I bet baseball has no rule disallowing you to shoot other people (lets just say it doesn't hypothetically), even though its against federal law. So using your logic if someone while running to first base pulled out a gun, and shot everyone in his path and ended up scoring, even though he committed a federal crime in order to help his team win, since baseball had no "will not kill people while playing" rule its not cheating and he should be allowed to keep his run?
Or you want a more realistic situation: Should Tonya Harding have been allowed to compete. I bet the USFSA had no rule saying "you're not allowed to hire a goon to take out a fellow skater" even though that also is illegal. So they shouldn't have banned her for getting an illegal edge right because it wasn't outlawed by the USFSA?

(a). APPROVED RULING: When a batter becomes a runner on third strike not caught, and starts for his bench or position, he may advance to first base at any time before he enters the bench. To put him out, the defense must tag him or first base before he touches first base. (b) He intentionally interferes with a thrown ball; or hinders a fielder attempting to make a play on a batted ball; A runner who is adjudged to have hindered a fielder who is attempting to make a play on a batted ball is out whether it was intentional or not.

Anyone else excited about how the Sox have been doing so far in the WBC?
Ortiz with a few homeruns, Tek with a GS, Adam Stern definitely shooting for a spot in the starting lineup after the US-Canada game...

"If I was the opposite gender, I'd be chasing him. I'd be dating him. But I'm not, so I don't. But I'm making the point. This guy's got a ton of personality. He's really a neat guy. The players have enjoyed him from Day 1. He's smart and he's funny. I really appreciate everything about him."

Hmm I'll have to check out Sporting News. Thanks for the referral guys.
Oh and I blame Buck Martinez on the U.S. loss to Canada. Why would you put in Al Leiter when there are plenty of other more qualified pitchers to choose from in that situation.
