How El Douche won the Conn Smyth over Sharp is mind numbing.

Not even sure if that's real? But I'd rather see the team that knocked you out go on to win it all. At least you lost to a team of destiny, a team that no one else could defeat. I was cheering for the Bruins.
Besides, who besides srika, Yumchah and cunts (sorry Cabrio) could actually cheer for a team with El Douche on it? That guy is right up there with Sean Avery and Matt Cooke in likeability.

By all reports, Kane was available last summer but Chicago felt he really was going to change after speaking to him and so, changed their mind. We'll know more in the coming days now that he has the Cup though...will he celebrate smartly or stupidly?

Jokes aside about the quality of goalies, if Chicago can maintain their depth and use their model of building around that core and just adding in disposable parts, it's very possible the Hawks will be quite competitive for the Cup for awhile.

FLYERS USE COMPLIANCE BUYOUT ON GOALTENDER BRYZGALOV
The Philadelphia Flyers are parting ways with goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov after just two seasons.
The club used the second of their two compliance buyout options on Tuesday to buy out the Russian netminder. On Monday, the Flyers announced they they will buy out the final two years of winger Daniel Briere's contract.
"I met with Ilya this morning and informed him that we are going to exercise a compliance buy out of his contract," Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren said in a statement. "This was a very difficult business decision to make for us and we want to thank Ilya for his time here and wish him all the best moving forward."
Bryzgalov was originally signed to a nine-year, $51 million contract prior to the start of the 2011-12 season. The Flyers will have to pay him two-thirds of the balance owed on his remaining term, or $23 million.
Combined with the Briere buyout, the Flyers have saved themselves just over $12 million against the cap in each of the next two seasons.

17 seconds is all it took to hand the Hawks the Cup.

Gotta give it to the Hawks, they just wanted it more and were willing to work for it. My favorite part of this finals is that it was 2 teams that were willing to "man up" and play a "mans sport". No whining, jut a lot of people saying, "that's NHL hockey."
Looking back at 2011, I find it odd that we could beat the Nucks and I was still feeling the inner anger from how the Nucks played and lose to the Hawks but I'm completely at peace with it. They fought for the cup and earned it the hard way, the right way and in the end, in a way that makes it tough for me to hate them.

You're right & anyway he is gone until next year.

Just noted that the last 3 Conn Smythe winners are US-born players. Good to see how US hockey is producing some good products.

Remember kids, odds are meant to have betters bet evenly on both sides…it doesn't always mean that one team is thought to be better then another….
Gotta make sure the house doesn't end up paying out too much, and losing $$.
