Big trades?

Word is Burke is pushing for a top 6 forward. I hope we'll have some 13th and 14th round picks left for 2026

Top 5 for "real" play, or fantasy value?? There's a difference.

Toews is a top 10 player, but not in fantasy.

Top 5 forwards:

Ovechkin
Crosby
Malkin
Backstrom
Henrik Sedin

Top 5 Dmen:

Green
Keith
Doughty
Lidstrom
Chara

Top 5 goalies:

Brodeur
Miller
Luongo
Lundqvist
Kiprusoff

Disagree with your pick of Green...he can score. But, that's about it IMO. I'd put Weber on that list instead of green.

I'd take Toews over Backstrom (or Malkin)...but, you knew that already, and I really don't need to post my reasons (i.e. exceptional 2-way play, face-off percentage, ability to score)...

Although, if you're to go with cap value (which is the pool I'm in), Stamkos would go #1 overall...

I mean there are a ton of intangibles when talking top players, especially D men. I could see why you would want a guy like Shea Weber over Green, because he can actually play D/physical and still puts up the points. And you could argue Toews > Backstrom for his leadership ability and 2-way play. Malkin is more of a power forward than Toews and will get you more points.

And yes, I agree.

When Chicago passed up on Kessel...it was because well, they wanted Toronto to have a better player when they acquired him from Boston.

Any player worth 2 first-rounders is a franchise changer.

Toronto gave up on Seguin for Phil the Thrill. So, clearly, Phil > Tyler...

I skate at the Leafs practice facility and one of the rink guys who works there told me last night that if Kessell stays healthy, he will score 50. Maybe he sees something everyone else doesn't.

Just to put things into perspective, this same guy once told us a story about how he picked up this girl from the local bar. He said "she was tiny. She must have weighed like 190".

Actually, I believe Kessel has the potential to pot 50 goals. However, he does not have the support to do it...

On a team like the Caps...? I'd say he's got a good chance.

No...because, you'll see the sparkling G1 collection there. Your eyes will glisten and you'll be awe-struck by their wonderment and coolness...

You're right. I'll destroy everything but the G1 bots. And anything Robotech or Voltron related. But everything else is going up in Flames. Along with the Hawks chance of repeating as champs.

Is this how you show your appreciation for my support of your Cup-contending team!??

Ignorant comments. Its almost as if you didn't know the Leafs have Grabovski, Kulemin, Brown, Armstrong, Orr and Stjostrom.

Off year for sure, as long as he stays healthy, he will be on a tear, especially being moved to wing

Watching the Versus coverage of Carolina vs Minnesota. The commentators are really dumbing down the game. They make the most obvious comments as if they are teaching the game to the viewers. Their analysis is so basic.

Consider the Americans we're dealing with in this thread to understand why they have to dumb the game down.

Would rather listen to Vs, than have ESPN kill the game for me as they have done with the NFL. ESPN is nothing but a shit-hyperbole of a network.

^^ I'm talking back in the day ESPN NHL coverage.

bottom line is Versus is horrible....and perhaps ESPN (the evil 4 letter) has gotten worse......but back in the day having an NHL game on almost every night was great....and I enjoyed the ESPN coverage.
