Weird because I actually watched some hockey last night....Funny how the Blackhawks weren't playing after how much I saw Yumsuckle talking about them the past few days in other threads

Malkin was given an instigator penalty for the incident, but the NHL has rescinded the penalty and he will not be suspended for Game 3.

"The intent of the rule is pretty obvious - was the action premeditated, was it sending a message," explained NHL on TSN's Bob McKenzie following the game. "Malkin was on the ice trying to score a goal at the end ... Read Moreof the game. This one was born more out of frustration, then it was the Penguins trying to orchestrate some late game shenanigans, that is what the rule was put in place for and that is why the NHL reserves the right to rescind the rule if they feel the spirit of the rule is not being violated."

So, if Ovechkin fought Z...would it have been an instigator...?

Anyone follow the draft stuff? I'll be at the isles draft party, since it's near work. Should be exciting and/or a riot, literally.

I think they SHOULD pick Tavares but I have a weird feeling they will go with Hedman.

give me a break. (1) that wasn't even close to a suspensionable penalty and (2) the NHL would never suspend one of it's star players during the playoffs unless it was a really, really bad foul.

Peers?

Peer would imply that Yumchah knew something about hockey.

Habs hire Jaques Martin as Head Coach

http://tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=280562

This is stupid. His defensive style doesn't mesh with the players they have. Then there is his playoff record...

You really think you can classify Semins girly drum punching to Malkins attempted haymakers? Atleast malkin throws punches like a man..

The whole talk about it being a suspension is it was called instigator, with the NHL changing what it meant last night and threw it all together. I was just wondering how they were going to change time, so Malkin can play tomorrow night.

It obviously suspendable, and they also dropped the inst penalty, nothing to see here, just an old fashioned ass whooping

Staal should quit hockey after getting punked liked that.

Malkin fighting reminds me when the black girls use to fight in high school, he's lucky, once he got Z's jersey off the refs step in, he would have to actually fight after that.

You still out for revenge, huh?

Why don't you go worry about who your team's gonna draft or sign so that they can get towards respectability, okay?

Well, at least my team made the Conference Finals and were able to keep up with the Red Wings who're now beating the Pens with two Almighty Saviors of Hockey on the team. Two.

Hawks just have Captain Serious.

They have like 17 players who will be free or restricted free agents, there's going to be some serious changes for them. Look like it starts here.

I think few outsiders would have predicted that the Wings would be riding Ozzie back to the finals, but he has been their most consistent player for the past two months. Admittedly I had my doubts too, but he's made some great saves at some pivotal moments.

My observations of the series so far is that they have been closer than the final scores would indicate. Pens carried the play and often had the Wings on their heels, puck just hasn't bounced their way so far. I will not be shocked to see the Pens even up on home ice and make this a long series.
