Part of being a man is that you have a few choice words bottled up, they come out time to time. Sometimes you mean them, sometimes you don't. The other part of being a man is letting them go, getting past them and moving on.

I really really dislike psychologists. There is apparently something "wrong" with having bad feelings or thoughts. Life isn't perfect. What he said was stupid, not very "smart" in terms of being a public figure but it was said. They were words. Apologize and move on. Its hockey for Christ's sake.
Bingo!
Well put.

Problem, is the words didn't accidentally come out of his mouth. It was all planned and premeditated. He knew exactly what he was going to say. He probably planned this days in advance. Not to mention this is hardly the first dumb thing he's said. There's a pattern here.

I don't think he needs counseling either, he's a smart cookie who knows exactly what he's doing. But there has to be consequences. If anything he'll use those smarts to watch his mouth or face wasting further hours of his life in front of a quack.

And there may some some legal ramifications that the NHL is protected itself from down the road. What if he really is nuts and kills himself or someone at some point. At least the NHL can say they had all their bases covered.

You play in their league you play by their rules. Why doesn't this seem to be a problem for the other 800 or so players?

Just keep in mind that if those comments slipped out of any other players mouth they likely would have been fined and that would have been it. But its not any player, it someone with a pattern of being a asshole.

Don't care. Fine him again and lets play hockey. There have been guys who have done worse on the ice in terms of injuring players who have gotten a shorter suspension than Avery. The whole psycho-therapy deal is laughable.

Avery doesn't need the therapy or the nanny NHL telling him how to live his life.

Believe me, if he keeps this up, he will be out of the league, because no team will have him on their roster.

There is a reason he has been bouncing around the league in the past couple of years. These things tend to work themselves out on their own. He will be gone soon enough.

Well, Dallas is apparently done with him...Coach Tippett's comments about Avery reveal alot about their anger at his "stunt" and his future with the club.

I posted the article in the Hockey Thread...

Can't argue with you there. I think we all know teh NHL is far from perfect or even sensible in their suspensions.

Valid points, but that still doesn't mean the NHL should do nothing.

Looks like both are happening anyway. Rumors are that Manitoba of the AHL was asked to take him a few weeks ago and said no way. He could be done in Hockey.

Just to set the record straight it's not yummy that is initiating these deals so I just wish everyone would back the fuck off him. Sure everyone might not agree with the players involved in the trade but I guess that's my opinion on the players i'm trying to get in return. I'm in dead fucking last place with only 26 wins.... Drastic and stupid run side-by-side when your in this situation. I've never done so poorly in fantasy so I'm really just trying to change the entire makeup of my team and hope something works out. I have to say though i'm quite happy at how this week is turning out... although I still have 2 days worth of games for this shit to turn on me.

Some frowned at the Nabokov deal and sure Nabokov is far and above the better goalie in the deal but the season is still early and I really think Turco is going to turn it around....eventually.... haha

I've offered other deals to other players with zero response... so it seems at the moment yummy is the only one worth dealing with.... Jonesi atleast has offered some advice and such and I appreciate the help. I do admit the stupidity in not realizing the 3 start minimum because in my past years of experience I never realized or even had to worry about it because I had high end starters (nabokov, brodeur, kipper, miller, fleury etc...) and obviously made the minimum each week

Anyway.. Just wanted to set it straight that it's not yummy that's initiating any of these deals regardless whether it shows such in yahoo. As he has said i've been in contact with him via pm

Anyone see Toews' goal against the Chicken Wings last night...? It's not as good as his jaw-dropper against the Avs last season but still a beauty.

6/10. In the age of Ovechkin, highlights like this look "cute" at best.

He's been skating since the beginning of October. I think he'll start playing before Christmas. Hopefully in his usual point per game form.
