Well...the Wings were out chancing the Bruins through the first half of the 1st period until Wheeler converted from Ryder on a 2 on 1. After that they just took over...they hit a bit of a bump in the road when they had to kill a few penalties (which isn't an easy task with the skill on the DET PP).

It was 3-0 by the time Hudler scored in the third but the Bruins maintained the momentum throughout the game. It was definitely a pretty convincing win for the B's!

No lux boxes? The scoreboard looks like it's from the 80's.
The Air Canada Centre looks 10x's better.

For some reason from the pics I thought that arena was alot older than 10 years.

that compared to the Scotiabank place Jumbotron
also Nashville and San Jose have unbelievable jumbotron's that come to mind

I'm so sick and tired of this shit. And now we have to wait until after X-Mas for Burke to start tearing apart this team.

There's only one player I wouldn't entertain trade offers for, ONE!

WTF.

They played hard and smart against a team that probably has more talent (at least known talent).

It took the B's about 10 minutes to register their fist shot on net. Fortunately it found it's way to the back of the net.

The best part is he'll pass up talented European players for NA players.. He probably wouldn't even take Malkin for Antropov..

NHL has suspended Dallas Stars' forward Sean Avery indefinitely

The NHL has suspended Dallas Stars' forward Sean Avery indefinitely, pending a hearing with NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman, and Avery will not be playing in tonight's game against the Calgary Flames.

Avery is being suspended for disparaging remarks he made this morning in reference to Calgary player Dion Phaneuf and Phaneuf's girl friend Elisha Cuthbert, who previously had a relationship with Avery.

"I am really happy to be back in Calgary, I love Canada," Avery said on camera this morning in Calgary. "I just want to comment on how it's become like a common thing in the NHL for guys to fall in love with my sloppy seconds. I don't know what that's about. Enjoy the game tonight."

Stupid Bettman.....if you would eliminate the instigator rule, tastic comments like this would be taken care of by the players.

Bettman now is the PC Police of the NHL

Every site I saw had it marked as a expletive.. You sure it was "sloppy seconds" ?? Just curious.. As I can see Bettman interfering if it was like Bitches or Hoes or something.

Then again, I think the suspension was likely to keep this game from blowing up into something super-ugly.

Good point.. Avery might actually have to fight and backup his words..

/sarcasm

Why can't Laraque be a smack talker? He has to be a nice guy and the instigator, cheap shot artists won't even drop the gloves..

Plus when's the last time a NHL game has had a story line or something good behind it? I remember looking forward to Probert Mcsorley and Rob Brown and Hextall etc etc.

Only thing I'm looking forward to is the Ovechicken vs Malkin and Semen vs Crosby rivalry that is starting to heat up..

Well, there still are heated rivalries around the league that have very physical and scrappy play from start to finish.

Meh. Not like the Detroit vs Colorado games or the Lemieux vs Gretzky etc etc.

There's localized games like Philly vs Pens. But even Toronto vs Montreal vs Ottawa games are running out of speed.

I'm just saying it wouldn't hurt to have a few more rivalries and a few more story lines..

Let me take back what I said about overacting about Avery. His douchebagary knows no bounds.

But a just punishment would have been letting him face Pheonuf last night.

Lets hope the Stars and then the NHL throw his ass out of the league. And by that I mean, no one signs him for fear of fawking up their team. i.e. Dallas.

As much as I hate Avery... Were these comments warranted by a indefinite suspension pending hearing?

"I just want to comment on how it's become like a common thing in the NHL for guys to fall in love with my sloppy seconds. I don't know what that's about. Enjoy the game tonight."

For all the stupid sh!t he does and the cheap shots and the NHL comes down harder on him for this then what he's done in the past?

Carolina Hurricanes have fired head coach Peter Laviolette; hires former Hurricanes

Sources tell TSN the Carolina Hurricanes have fired head coach Peter Laviolette and in a unique about face, have replaced him with former Hurricanes head coach Paul Maurice.

This move comes amid weeks of speculation of change in Carolina and the teams' battle with consistency with Laviolette at the helm.

Laviolette, last month, surpassed John Tortorella to become the winningest American born coach in NHL history with his 240th victory.

You're right. He should have been suspended a long time ago. Like I suggested.

At some point you have to draw the line and say enough is enough. This was the proverbial straw that broke the camels back.

Good to see Maurice back in the NHL. He's a class act. But that's a dumb move IMO. I don't think he's been long enough removed from that team.

Naw, I think the Little Elf was trying to save Avery (goodness why) from getting his Vogue face rearranged by a pissed off Iginla and Phaneuf.

I think Bettman's gonna have a few year's worth of Vogue subscriptions for free from Avery for the next few years.

Injuries

Teams that are playing well with injuries to key players...

Caps.. Lighting it up without Semin and Green.. That's just straight scary if they continue the pace and these guys make it back in the lineup.

Blues.. Missing Kariya and McDonald..

Wild.. Minus Gaborik and Foster..

Pens.. Whitney and Gonchar.. Although Gonchar won't be back for awhile..

Who else am I missing?
