I thought Ferguson was fired? Who the hell is Jeff Finger and why he he worth 3.5 mill a year?

I thought the days of overpaying defenseman in Toronto were done. We now have over 20 mill a year invested in 4 D-men.

Good to see the new CBA is keeping salaries in check.

Cambell is good but not 7.5 million good.

And word is that Hossa will get Max money which is 11.3. Can't wait to see who's face that blows up in.

Yummy, apparently Cambell 'only' got 56.8 for 8 from the Hawks. Atlanta was offering 60.

And Hockey Buzz is rumoring the Bulin Wall back to Tampa.

I saw that too...I have mixed feelings about this. Good feeling is that he's very productive at his age (still a point a game guy). Bad feeling is that he's on the tail end of his career and wondering when the point production will end.

I think the Canuck fans against this deal are still jaded by the Messier fiasco a few years ago.

57.12 mil for 8... thats 7.14 mil / year compared to his meager earnings of 1.75 mil last year. rangers have been dead quiet, i guess their trying to focus on re-signing their UFAs.

just saw that, good move imo. they needed some veteran presence on the blue line. and that's a pretty reasonable price tag for redden (or should i say that's a reasonable price for sather to pay out).

some more interesting signings by the rangers:
andreas jamtin (red wings draft pick), aaron varos (wild), and patrick rissmiller (sharks)

3 power forwards from western team systems and possibly some more interesting prospects coming up in the system... i kind of like the direction sather is taking the team this time around.

you think that's bad.

The Rangers also locked up defenceman Michal Roszival, who passed on free agency to sign a $20-million, four-year extension.

same deal as brian rolston. i mean rosival isn't horrible, but definitely not worth 5mil.

The Chicago news (i.e. Daily Herald, Tribune) have all quoted that the Hawks probably will go as high as $8M-ish for Hossa...not more than that. Then again, weirder things have happened...like, the Nucks offering $20M for Sundin.

definitely would have expected them to fight tooth and nail to keep huet. theodore is a toss up, he can be great or terrible.
