haha lister i think its funny/coincidental how both the teams we follow are rivals. stars and man utd vs sharks and liverpool. anyways, yea i donno whats up with the sharks... i honestly expected the stars to get pwnd back in dallas. for some reason the stars do well in the shark tank, but never play that well at home in the playoffs. this season's not so bad though... which brings me to my next point.

quick question for everyone. I saw one of the stars commentators talking about it a few games back. is it a good or bad thing that the playoffs in hockey have always been so different (ie: the defending champs can never seem to get past the first round lately, there are no real big dynasties that win numerous cups lately, etc). thoughts?

i can easily see the arguments made for both sides. all i know is that playoff hockey is crazy though.

all things considered this turned out to be a good year for the rangers. i followed them the entire season and you really saw them come alive. some great young talent along with signed vets, they made huge steps this year. i expect them to be even more competitive as the years progress.

something about the STAAL family genes... it's hard to believe this is marc's rookie season.

I truly hate you....

jk man. The Sharks go into this Malaise come playoff time - they just don't have that killer instinct. I am really hoping tonight they pull a performance like they did against CGY in Game 7 and go wild...for the rest of the series

wow, i didn't even hear that.

i'm surprised he continued to play, that can be pretty painful. as much as people hate him, he can be a pretty tough guy. reminds me of when hatcher shattered roenick's jaw, and JR just stands up and goes to the bench.

Still ranks as the most wigged out I've ever been from a hockey injury. Not when JR got hit, but afterwards when he reached in his mouth and you could see five or six of his teeth move in unison while the rest didn't.

I'm not one to look ahead of the next game but it really is starting to look like the pens could be on a collision course with the flyers.. There isn't a doubt in my mind the penguins tanked the last game of the season so they could avoid that matchup in the first round and now there is a damn good chance this will be the matchup for the conf finals... Whoever comes out of this one will be so beat up i'm not sure if they will have anything left in the finals

it really doesn't matter. none of the eastern teams stand a chance regardless, even if they didn't get torn die in the conf finals. dallas/detroit moves way too fast and lays down the body harder than any of the current 4 eastern teams can deal with. pens are the only ones remotely close to being able to keep up with the fast two way game and even then they will still get beat up, their not physical enough.

Dear Peter Forsberg:

Thank-you for all of that retarded Roger-Clemens-esque-drama-of-where-you'll-sign. And then thank-you for doing dick all for the Avs in the playoffs.

Sincerely,

on a side note for any avalanche fans... if forsberg was your biggest hope to turn the playoffs into something, then you should have known this would end ugly. sakic looked like the only guy trying even in the 3rd.
