Speaking of games...anyone catch the 9-6 mutual bombing between the Flames and Bolts...?
And oh, mebbe teams should realize that tying the Oilers in regulation is a stupid idea!

Simon should be out of the league for good. He'll probably get 30-40 games and anger management courses.

Yup. He admitted to anger issues and admitted what he did was wrong so he's on leave. He's had enough chances IMO.

But, wait...if you contract the league, that means ALL teams get their talents equally dispersed more or less...that would mean, the talented team does NOT need to trap! So...no trapping!

Leafs blow a 2-0 lead with under a minute and half left and lose in OT. Nice.

Hawks trade Vandermeer for Ben Eager of the Flyers...

The National Hockey League has suspended New York Islanders forward Chris Simon for 30 games for stepping on Pittsburgh's Jarkko Ruutu last weekend. It is the longest suspension in NHL history, surpassing the 25-game ban that Simon served earlier this year.

Probably to make room on the blueline...perhaps, it's time for Cam Barker?

Naw...not yet. The Hawks have been struggling a bit in the W department...but, not for a lack of trying. Just the bounces are not going their way.
As for Vandermeer, he's buried down the depth chart and has been a healthy scratch for many games. Good to get someone who's a former 1st Rounder and who can help on the 4th line.

Will he get 35 when he finally kills someone.

They are good enough to get the 7th or 8th seed in the Western Conference. And I believe that Tallon will be adding a vet D-man possibly quite soon from your hated Rubber Duckies...

Naw, Sammy's actually...played decently, as far as I've seen. For some weird reason, he just can't find the net!
Perreault is another story, he's great on the faceoffs (leading the League or something) but he sucks in everything else.

Hull, Mikita accept ambassador roles
The thawing of the Hawks continue...I know Bobby Hull had his issues with Bill Wirtz. But, looks like all is forgiven! Good move on the Hawks part by reconnecting with their past alumni...hopefully, the United Center will be back to full capacity soon.
From Chicagosports...
One of the first tasks John McDonough said he wanted to address after being named president of the Blackhawks on Nov. 20 was to re-establish a link to the team's past.
McDonough and the Hawks did that Wednesday when they named former stars Bobby Hull and Stan Mikita as official Blackhawks ambassadors.
"The Blackhawks are thrilled to welcome back two of the greatest players to ever wear the Indianhead sweater," McDonough said in a statement.
While Mikita often has been seen around Hawks practices and games, Hull's presence has been minimal. Hull was one of the faces of the franchise when the Hawks left him off the protected list after the merger with the World Hockey Association in 1972, and he left for Winnipeg.
"I'm overwhelmed to be part of the Chicago Blackhawks family again," Hull said. "I've been away from Chicago for some 35 years, but Chicago was never out of my heart. It is truly time for me to come back to Chicago."
Hull and Mikita will represent the Hawks at events at the United Center and away from it.
"It has been a long wait to be asked back, and I'm thrilled," Mikita said. "I know these young Blackhawks are as excited as I am to be a part of this great organization."
