Did you hear his call when Anaheim scored their 3rd goal to take the lead in the 3rd? The guy was comatose. No excitement in his voice whatsoever. Not to mention the endless wrong calls or no calls. Jim Hughson is far, far better than Cole. CBC should take him out behind the shed.

Phase I of the SENS plan has worked like a charm - those duckies have been
lulled into a false sense of security.

Tonight, we begin Phase II!!!!!

Go!! SENS GO!!

Wow. Ottawa looks horrid tonight. Anaheim deserves to win. It's a shame, because I'd really like like to see Canada win a Cup, but it looks like the Americans are better than the Canadians again this year.

theres more Canadian players on anaheim.

p.s. what the hell are the Sens defense doing? i saw 2-3 times where they almost scored on their own net in the 2nd period, and they finally did. geez. theres been a lot of terrible goals this series.

Ottawa can't handle them. Anaheim is too big, too strong and dominating them down low. The line of Penner, Perry, and Getzlaf are a pleasure to watch. Alfredson looks like he's trying to take things into his own hands but i don't think it will be enough.

Oh well.

What's worse is that now we have to watch Pittsburgh win the next 3-4 Cups.

So I must say I'm happy the ducks won. As much as I didnt care about this finals, deep down in the bottom of my gut I wanted Ottawa to choke again, which they did.

Anaheim was by far the better team and deserved to win.

<--- not happy Ducks won.

I think it's ridiculous that SoCal has 2 hockey teams.

I think the majority of the "fans" the Ducks have are people who just started following them a month ago.

There were empty seats during the deciding game of the Stanely Cup Finals, which should make people from Montreal and Toronto (where regular season seats are impossible to get) cry.

As long as fringe (fanbase-wise) teams like the Ducks, Hurricanes, Lightning, etc. win Stanely Cups, there is a low likelyhood of the league contracting - which I think it should.

I thought I was seeing things when they showed the crowd. Regular season games are sold out in T.O let alone deciding game of Stanley Cup.

I'm sure the game was sold out. But ya, the fans there suck ass, and thats why this finals was a lose lose for me. But I'd still rather those shitty fans get a cup than ottawa win.

I don't think the SENS choked. It would be a choke if they were up against an
inferior team and beat themselves, but that was definitely not the case with
Anaheim.

I think the whole thing is absolutely hilarious. Now the last 3 cups have been won from teams in areas who could give a shit less about hockey.

Long live the NHL.

They were playing so well during the playoffs, and then they just suddenly disappeared, their top line didn't produce, they buckled under the pressure of the finals. IMO they choked.

Whatever the case....it's not good for the league to have one of the most legendary trophies in sports won by a team in a town where nobody even cares.

It was barely on TV and radio here last night following the win, and today so far the story of the Ducks winning the cup is being burried over Paris Hilton news.

Instead of tainting Lord Stanley's Cup by engraving the Duckies onto it, perhaps the NHL can put another one of these engravings on the Cup for this year?

California in general isn't exactly hockey country. There are certain states that turn out much more hockey than others, and while it's not good that the cup isn't recognized much over there, i feel the NHL itself is turning a corner. The game has opened up and more people I know have been watching it this past year, than the last years before the lockout combined.

Even Arnold made a press comment about the Ducks winning, that's pretty huge. I heard Cuba Gooding Jr. was in the ducks locker room celebrating with them.

Yes, but think of all the little kids who were inspired. I expect pick-up ice hockey games to break out all over the OC, from Tustin to Fullerton.
