The NHL has no TV contract for next year (assuming there is a next year) were you guys aware of that? They're lucky if they end up on ESPN 17. How did it get to this? there were plenty of All US finals. The NHL has to stop kissing American ass and catering to the way the US wants the game to be played. This is a Canadian/Northern US game. Cities like Detroit, Boston, NY, Minnesota and a few others have no trouble filling the seats because the people love the game, same in Canada.

When the NHL can finally admit that they are a gate driven leaugue and concentrate there efforts there and get the salaries in line with that of a gate driven leaugue they'll be alright. Until then, the NHL will did a slow death.

Oh and they have to drop 6 or 7 cities to get the talent level up.

Speaking of cutting teams, are the rumours about Edmonton possibly losing their team true?

I remember reading it somewhere, and thought that would really suck if we dropped down to 5 Canadian teams.

Bettman has single-handedly destroyed the leugue. Over expansion is one of his biggest blunders, but there are others. The NHL was healthy and had an extremly bright future in the US when he took over.

Bergeron is by far a "good scorer", but they all count.

dam goals off of your own defensemen really hurt -- they have cost us 3 goals in the series so far.... when you have shiest like that happening -- you begin to wonder if you were meant to lose

true, but who will be left with enough skill to take them on -- besides tampa - or a depleted flyers club?

Not only does the Leafs and Sens have skill, but playoff experience.

Those "lucky bounces" can break a series wide open. Just like when the Flames scored 2 goals in a span of 50 sec.

they do... i said that in response to an earlier reply about the winner of this series being to beat up to compete any more

i was saying who out of the other teams would have enough skill to match the leafs or sens.... besides lightning or depleted flyers corp -- i would not mind seeing eddie get another cup ---- against the wings in the finals

This was the point I was trying to make. The NHL is almost at the bottom rung in the major sports hierarchy. A lot of American fans have many choices of sports to follow and watch (i.e. baseball)the minute their local NHL team gets eliminated from the playoffs.

Great game last night - that silly ass-packer from Montreal gave up in the 2nd OT because he got tapped in the glove with a stick. What a way to throw the game.
