Great time at the Pens game last night, the Pens looked the best they've looked all playoffs and finally looked more like the team I'm used to watching. The crowd energy was insane and such a fun atmosphere. Nothing better than playoff hockey!

There was plenty of blood and near deaths with all the targeting of the head that the Caps were doing... Throwing elbows right into faces and heads, a disgusting way to play hockey, but I'm not even bitter about the loss. I do hate losing to this team, but after back to back cup runs the Pens just ran out of gas and I can't fault them. I don't think the Caps will make it to the cup final or beat whoever comes out of the west, so good luck to them. Honestly now I can have a month of my life back and I get to cheer for the Pens west in Vegas

I don't buy the "they ran out of gas" excuse, either. These guys have been on skates for their entire lives. They've been training hard, day in, day out, for years. They also get a few months off, even if they win the cup, to get back into it. There's been enough hockey players who come back in the fall 20 pounds heavier from all the "recuperating" they did, after winning a cup.
The only outstanding thing would be injuries, and yeah, a lot of those happen, especially in the playoffs- but, if they're good enough to play in the fall again, when they're not overly needed as much as if they were trying to make it into the playoffs, or on a cup run, then they're likely ok to play in general.

They've played over 300 games in the past 3 seasons, that's a LOT of hockey. They just look slow and tired out there and were out worked. Like I said, I'm not making excuses, just saying what I observed. They won the last 2 years by using their speed and outworking teams, this year they looked slower and got outworked. Granted a lot of teams are working to copy that style and did get faster, however the Caps and Flyers put a beating on them physically with all the cheapshots and constant headshots. I know a lot of our guys were playing hurt

I hate to say it, but I have very little interest in the eastern teams, now. Capitals? never cared for them in the last decade... won't start caring now. And a team like TB pi$$es me off... how are they so good, living and playing in a climate that should have no idea what ice hockey even is?! 
But the western final.. oh man... I'm caught between a rock and a hard place. I really wanted both teams to go far, never actually realizing they're in the same conference and that they'd have to play eachother It'll be a great series. I prefer the Jets to win, but I'm thinking Vegas takes it in 7.
