^He def struggled last night, no question. Had a hell of a career year before getting injured though. A couple of tough losses to take. Pens outplayed and outshot the Lightning last night but give up the goal in OT. Game 4, the Lightning outplayed the Pens the first 2 periods and the Pens had to try and beat the refs and the lightning. They finally brought it in the third but it was too little too late. TB is a tough team, a lot tougher than they looked in the first 2 series for sure.

I saw that coming when they decided to play Fleury unfortunately. He always chokes at the end. Couple that with the fact he hadn't played a full game since March he had to be exhausted.
I thought they might survive it with the early 2-0 lead but that imploded rather quickly too.

The refs went easy on Pitt. They should have had a 4 minute double and 2 minute trip giving them a 5 on 3 for 2 minutes followed by a 5 on 4. The refs declined to call the ridiculously blatant trip because the pens were scrambling to stop the defacto power play during the delayed call.
The refs put their whistles away entirely in game 5 didn't call shit on either side

I never would have sat him. It sucks to lose your job to injury but the coach should always ride the hot hand. A hot goalie can almost single handedly win the cup. Factor in that the "book on Murray" is about 1 paragraph long and it makes him seem like a wall. Goal scorers learn goaltenders tendencies and weaknesses, any goal that gets past Murray almost seems like a fluke

^He's been good for us down the stretch, but his numbers have been declining. He's 3-3 in his last 6 games. If nothing else, he got an extra day or 2 of rest, hopefully that helps get him back on track
You can thank Pittsburgh and their bonehead decision IMO to slot in a rusty goalie versus the kid who got them there in Murray.
And FWIW, I also think the Blues were to go with Allen instead of the goalie that got them there too EVEN if they won.

I still expect the Pens to come out on top here. Just so long as they are not stupid and go back to Fleury...the guy has been out of action for too long to be thrown right into the playoff mix. Go with Murray...ride the horse that got you there. I don't get this goalie roulette thing.
Of course, maybe Pittsburgh got a dosage of idiocy and thought NAME-BRAND goalies (i.e. Fleury) are what brings Cups.

Go Sharks!
Let's hear it for the league's most likable team. Great work ethic. No whiners. No divers. No prima donnas. One of the most stand-up captains in the league (Pavelski). An older, grizzled veteran playing the best hockey of his career (Thornton).
And the best uniforms in the league (Sharks black armor, which they don't wear during the playoffs).

I don't think taco realizes what he may have done here. Also, what's a thonton? Is that one of those things that Han Solo stuffed luke into?
Well it's obvious that the NHL, the refs, and NBCSN are doing everything they can to advance Sydney Cosby and those cheating fucks to the finals. All because Tampa is a small market team, so they're worried about viewers and ad revenue! It's all about money! Those greedy fuks! They stole that goal from us!
It should be tied 2-2 right now but the cheating refs have given them a goal and stolen one of ours
I bet Tom Brady has money on the Penguins to win...
