I need to ask: Who in their right minds would ante up nearly $6M for a guy who has probably lost a step and is about $2M overpaid? Isn't he a 3rd or 4th center these days?

I can't believe the uproar over the Connor McDavid broken hand issue. Everyone is blaming fighting. The type of fight he got into are the types of fights I'd like to see stay in the game. Raw emotion where there's a reason for it. People get hurt playing hockey all the time, get over it.

Not sure. The cap is going to very interesting in the next few years. The 70-80 million cap that some players have banked on may never happen. That's going to leave teams in some serious hurt if they happen to have $65,788,462 in salaries but only a 15 man roster with a cap of 69 million. That leaves about 4.3 million to sign 5 more players (also known as one quarter of the team).

I'm not sure anyone knows what overpaid is anymore with nothing but speculation on future caps driving player contracts.

I have to agree that fighting was definitely the culprit. He really should have been trained at a younger age to throw a proper punch and this injury never would have happened.
