I'm sure Spain will bounce back though by thumping Honduras and edging out Chile.

Wow, did not foresee Espana loosing. Villa, Torres and Iniesta could not find the back of the net. Look at the shot and time of possession differential! Jeebus, props to Fernandes and the Swiss.

Chile looked good as expected and had the opportunity to take on more points. Intriguing.

Uruguay spanked South Africa. Great performance by Forlan. I hope they go through. Next on the agenda: France to fuckup again and lose to Mexico.

Very surprised that Switzerland beat Spain, bad luck for them today and I was really hoping South Africa could at least draw after the first goal but they were completely outclassed.

I hope Mexico beats France. I don't like either team but France is so full of great players but suck as a team that they don't even deserve to be here.

Back to the action, seemingly most of these teams focused on defense and ball control makes for some decidedly boring matches. You can see why the casual observer does the big

If I were coach: simply play 5-5 formation with nobody in the middle. Five back to play defense and just lob the ball over the top for strikes. Let see some action mofos!

Just like hockey, dump'n chase.

Germany is the most impressive team so far for me. They know exactly how to kill weaker teams.

I really hope all teams will be more attack-minded for the second and third games, scoring some spectacular goals like they should!

Wowz, ARG clearly showed why they are one of the favorites to win it all. At times it almost seemed like they were toying with the defense, they are so good on the ball.

Red Devils had a golden opportunity to tie up the game 60 minutes in and then they lost defensive focus and fell apart.
