Gotta give props to coach Bradley for making those 2 key substitutions for the 2nd half. Torres looked lost in the 1st half and Edu was robbed of being the savior for Team USA. A lot of intrigue in group C, mostly provided by England's ineptitude. Did not foresee Slovenia being at the top going into the final group stage match.

^ A "F" for me in the groupings and advancement. I'm stupidified with the NCAA basketball of winning and moving up in the bracket. Lose and go home.
I'm still dumbstruck how a nation with the population of SC (5 mil) can tie (with a bad ref) a country of 300 million.

I have a feeling that without Cahill, Australia will probably lose, maybe tie to a better Ghana squad; then I think Serbia will also beat Australia and Germany will beat Ghana.

Anelka sent home
France striker Nicolas Anelka has been sent home from the World Cup after verbally insulting coach Raymond Domenech during the Mexico game.
The Chelsea star missed training on Saturday after reports of a row with the France coach during their 2-0 loss.
And he later refused to apologise when asked to by French Football Federation president Jean-Pierre Escalettes.
An FFF statement said the 31-year-old's half-time comments to Domenech were "totally unacceptable".
The statement continued: "Faced by the refusal of the player to publicly apologise, he (Escalettes) took the decision in total agreement with the coach and the official members of the delegation present to exclude Nicolas Anelka from the squad."
The FFF said that France captain Patrice Evra also attended the meeting with Anelka at the French training camp in Knysa.
Anelka, a League and FA Cup double winner with Chelsea this season, has won 71 international caps.
He scored twice on his debut against England in 1999 but later spent three years in the international wilderness after refusing to play for Les Bleus under coach Jacques Santini.
Domenech brought Anelka back into the fold in 2005 but left him out of France's squad for the World Cup in Germany the following year.
It was only a temporary omission and Anelka scored in the first leg ofthe qualifying play-off against the Republic of Ireland last November when France secured their place in South Africa.
He was also in the starting line-up for both of France's first group games but failed to hit the net in the 0-0 draw with Uruguay and the loss to Mexico.
France's poor start to the competition has left their hopes of qualification from Group A out of their hands.
There were reports earlier in the week that Domenech had also had a training ground bust-up with midfielder Florent Malouda.
And the team has been urged to show greater dignity for the remainder of the tournament.
French sports minister Roselyne Bachelot said in a statement: "The very high pressure weighing on Les Bleus does not authorise any form of slip-up.
"The players must keep in mind that they're wearing France's colours and are considered as role models by many youngsters.
"This obliges them to show restraint and dignity."
If Mexico and Uruguay draw in their final match, France will be eliminated.

This French squad is proving to be quite a joke.

I'm not surprised at all ANelka got sent home. IMO Domenech needs to be sent home, along with that Mali ref. He is such a dumbass coach, whereas Anelka is a great striker... at least for Chelsea.. dunno about France.
Seems like the French and English teams are very similar: tons of incredible individual talent but as a team they just... blow.

I don't think it's fair how the US is big and rich so if a ref makes a bad call against them he immediately loses his job. I bet if the situation was reversed and the ref made the bad call against slovenia nothing would happen no matter how much the slovenians complained. Countries have lost matches due to bad reffing many times, it happens, this is no different.

not sure why you think the US being a world power is the reason for his evaluating?
and this is different.. a missed call or an overreaction to a foul is normal... but calling something that isnt there and thus changing the entire outcome of the game.. well, thats a problem.
he deserves any consequences that come along with his terrible decision.

New Zealand up 1 - 0 against Italy.
The US being a world power has nothing to do with it. Coulibaly made a TERRIBLE call, it wasn't even close. Most questionable calls can be argued either way or just missed but this seemed to be blatant. I'd hate to accuse him of being crooked, but I find it hard to believe that this was simply a "mistake"; there was nothing there. If it was truly a mistake, then he STILL doesn't need to be at the World Cup. I sincerely hope he's fired. Refs like this ruin the game and I would have said that no matter who was playing.

Lol and it looks like French Football Federation is about to explode.
A day after Anelka was sent home France's players refused to train on Sunday following an on-pitch row between captain Patrice Evra and fitness coach Robert Duverne.
And France team director Jean-Louis Valentin:
"It's a scandal for the French, for the young people here. It's a scandal for the federation and the French team. They don't want to train. It's unacceptable. As for me, it's over. I'm leaving the federation. I'm sickened and disgusted."

^^ Yep I saw that. freakin hilarious!
I'm sure New Zealand is happy with the draw, but it should have been 1 - 0. I really hate this diving.
Also, wasn't that Coulibaly I saw on the sidelines in this match?

He flopped on purpose because I think he thought Kaka flopped earlier. Kaka was nowhere near his face. But of course the better than acting job, the better chance you have to draw a yellow card.
Brazil and Ivory Coast flopping all over the place in the closing minutes.

I am not a big fan of Brazil, but I do respect them.. However that call for Kaka was bs. There was no punch, the other idiot ran into him... Boy is shit going to hit the fan after this match.

It's true. Italy dives 10x more than the second most diving country; it is a fucking disgrace to the game. How the fuck did the Chinese beat them in diving in the Olympics?!
Great consolation goal from DROGBA
Btw wtf was that little quarrel between Brazil and Ivory Coast at the end of the game? Embarassing... Keita you should be ashamed... Kaka gets a red for nothing... stupid, but entertaining. lol.
