Spain has a very talented team this time around, but then when don't they? Let's see if they live up to their underachieving ways.

Italy will definitely be hurt by Cannavaro's injury.

Personally, I think the four sides with the best shot at victory are Germany, France, Portugal and Spain.

True, Spain always has a loaded team, but in big competitions they suck (just like the England)

mexes, i like.

totti, i respect, for sticking with his club.

but other than that, don't really care much for roma.

i'll be checking out, fellas.

i'm avoiding all soccer websites (and this thread) until i get home and watch the euros on espn360's replay.

and the US played a HELL of a game yesterday against argentina. GREAT game.

a beating the Dutch are laying on the Italians. I can't remember the last time an Italian team allowed 3 goals.

damn. 3 Goals. Am stuck at work, so can't watch the game. Just managed to catch highlights of the first two goals online. Van Nistelrooy was offside by about 2 yards for the first. The second goal was a counter-attacking at its best. Amazing.
Haven't seen the third yet.

He wasn't offside, the guy who went off the field was keeping him onside. There is a rule for that...

just saw both matches.

the france/romania game was

but holland and italy made up for it.

and panucci was off the field so it looked like RVN's goal was correct.

if italy are going to keep starting matrix and barzagli, good luck.

Very entertaining match yesterday with Italy and Holland, it certainly lived up to the hype. Too bad all the matches are on during work hours.

DVR FTW ^^

"When you're off the pitch, you're still relevant of the off side law. The referees applied the law in the correct manner. Unless you have permission to be off the pitch, you have to be on it. Most people are not aware of the law. There is no matter for debate."

Interesting

Interesting
If the ref gave the player permission to be treated off the pitch, then it would have been off side. The details!

Yes sir...that and the most likely Portugal-Germany quarter...

So disappointed about the Swiss, they could have won both games even though they were outplayed by the Turks for the most part. Losing Frei was tough, especially for a team that already has problems scoring goals....take away the leading goal scorer and you have some problems. Well on to World Cup qualifying

how bout that austria vs poland game. the "foul" in extra time... imo it wasnt a foul but good for the pk scorer he kept the host country alive AND HE GOT A LIFETIME'S AMOUNT OF FREE BEER, NO JOKE - http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/st...544984&cc=5901 - WOOT for him lol.

but the Austrians should have had 2 goals in the first 10 min of the game but that same guy screwed up both times. o well. it will still be germany and croatia

ok i'm back. i'm finally caught up to date via espn360 ( )

germany looked flat against croatia.

spain and david villa looked good, but their defense makes me nervous. if only there were 4 sergio ramoses.

if david villa keeps playing like this, i wonder how much his transfer fee will be especially after what torres' was and how everyone's kicking themselves for not signing him.

Nisteroo, saves a "dead" play, fends off two running defenders and successfully touches the ball to Robben, who charges strongly towards the left flank and crosses the ball beautifully to Van Persie, who rolls it beautifully over France's goal line. 2-0.
