if i was an arsenal supporter, i'd be livid with that penalty call right now.
and to make it worse, they blew the league and now the cl.
i have a lot of respect for wenger's eye for talent, but he really needs to start building a deeper squad and one that includes some veterans with experience. the core of this squad is going to be strong, but they can only last so long. their guys have been running on fumes for over a month now.
fabregas has only missed, what, a handful of matches this year?
in the past, it was due to lack of cash. they have the cash now. what are you going to do, professor wenger?

I agree with the depth though. It is a HUGE issue. Chalk up injuries to that though. We need a strong CB to replace FRICKEN Senderos, the clumsiest 1st-team player I've ever seen (Pascal Cygan brings similar bad memories). Someone on the wing (Left side) like a Ribery, and perhaps an attacking midfielder/ solid forward to help the depth issues faced with the RvP and Dudu injuries.
I'm gutted. I'm disappointed in the officials, the lack of concentration at the end, at everything. This SHOULD have been a win simply on the fact that either way, a fair PK call to BOTH games would make for either 4-3 if Arsenal got theirs, and 3-3 if the call today was not called. Ridiculous.

Players like Wiltord and Parlour have historically done very little, along with spending the most money in history (although mere peanuts compared to the spending by ManUre and Chealski).
however, wenger's transfer policy is to buy very young players and spend little. not even mediocre money.
in the past few seasons, who other than rosicky and gallas did wenger bring in that were experienced and established players? and gallas wasn't even a buy since he was exchanged for cole.
wenger does indeed have an eye for talent and has done wonders with henry, vieira, cesc, etc.
but you can see what kind of a difference a player like torres has made for liverpool.

rosicky could have been the player on the left. RVP is a shell of his normal self at the moment.
senderos is a joke now. wenger better hope djourou becomes the next campbell.
however, one good thing has come out of this campaign.
theo walcott is really coming around, and wenger must hold onto him.
sure he's shined in bits and pieces and we don't know what he can do as a full-time starter.
but he's really starting to show his potential.

ironic too that the one player that actually wanted to play for arsenal drew that pk.
i still don't know why wenger didn't go for babel.

I am the resident Liverpool fan and even I agree that the PK was BS.
Never the less, WHAT A GAME!
That strike from Torres was golden and that surge by Walcot was insane. I wish he could play like that for the England squad.
I'm also glad to see that Ryan Babbel got some love - he gets overlooked a lot. Time to bring on the blues!

well after yesterday's drama, we've got two more going on now.
i must say, though. in the past, i've been skeptical of the merit of keeping guys like wes brown, john o'shea, darren fletcher, saha, etc.
but after seeing arsenal running on fumes the last month, i do want to keep them as long as they want to keep playing for united and accept a bit part role.

The ManU-Roma scoreline was not indicative at all of the way the match played out. ManU could've scored at least 3-4 more goals.
Also, that was a horrible miss from DeRossi on the PK.
Didn't get to watch the Barca/Shalke04 game, but apparently didn't miss much.
At the moment, it definitely looks like ManU is the favorite to get to the final.

Merchanside United will play Liverpool. When the crowd sings "You'll Never Walk Alone", ManUre fans will respond with "...when you have a ref on your side".

few thoughts:
1. it's safe to say arsenal will definitely not win a trophy this year.
2. as brilliant as c.ronaldo is, there is NO place for showboating like he did today. winning with class > showing up an opponent.
3. looks like ronaldinho's headed to milan. and sheva too.
4. it's a longshot, but i hope fulhamerica can do it...

I am amazed by his skill and the amount of arrogance and lack of class he displays after every goal.

So single game tickets went on sale today for Toronto FC home games. My friends and I were really looking forward to finally catching a game or two this season. It seems to be next to impossible to get tickets in multiples. All I could get was one ticket way out in September and that too was for the premium seats. This sucks.

but it's encouraging to see that many people are going.
what about the allstar game vs. west ham?

There was nothing on the all-star game at ticketmaster. It's definitely encouraging that a lot of people are going to the games and they're supporting the team, but I think the way the ticket base is set up here, most of the tickets are season tickets or half-season tickets. There's a very limited amount of single tickets available every season.
If they really want to bring the casual fan in (people who would follow the team without wanting to be at every single game), they need to increase the amount allotted to single game tickets every year. Unfortunately, it is a business, and they're more inclined to lock in guaranteed income from season ticket sales rather than take a chance on potentially maybe getting more income through single tickets.
Sucks. I'll prob have to go through scalpers, and I'd really rather not deal with that lot.
