Floyd just happened to react too fast. He saw the opportunity and went for it.

Rule #1 in boxing is protect yourself at all time. Ortiz ignored this fundamental rule and paid the price for it. The shot was perfectly legal. Floyd was smart and alert and caught Ortiz slipping, who was more interested in hugging and trying to kiss Floyd than actually fighting him.

Also Ortiz was getting the brakes beat off of him he couldn't hit Floyd even when he had him on the ropes, Floyd stared taunting him by laughing at him he got frustrated was looking for a way out and head butted him in frustration.

Well, floyd isn't like any other boxer.

He's undefeated for a reason.

......and that reason is called cherry picking...just look at the quality of opponents he's had. Quite frankly the only impressive win he's ever had throughout his entire career is against Diego Corrales (RIP btw). The first fight with Castillo as well but I had Castillo winning by a narrow margin on that fight.

One of the few reason why I think this fight was fixed. And coming from a veteran ref like Cortez was, makes it more all too obvious.

Another reason, click to 6:56. And from 6:56 to 7:37, Floyd talk about ortiz might be down 4 to zero, and Floyd said "make any mistake you will have to pay". does he means "I will take a cheap shot at you at any given moment"? lol

#1 rule in boxing, "Protect yourself at all times."

I guess that's why Mayweather is dodging Pacquiao

My buddy showed me this, it seems Ortiz has been on the other end of such foul play.

He hasn't agreed to anything, Konzc and Arum have both stated this. The problem with team Pac is that Pac isn't in control of the people around him. They all say different things. The best thing Pac could do is leave Bob Arum and Top Rank, who have been a big reason why this fight hasn't happened, and start his own promotion.

Dodges top Champs?

Floyd fights top ranked guys and guys coming off of big wins not loses.
Floyd fought Oscar when he was top ranked at 154 a champ and coming off a big win against Mayorga. Floyd fought Mosley when he was a top 5 P4P fighter #1 ranked at 147 a champ and had just destroyed Margarito. He fought Hatton who was a undefeated top 5 P4P champ who came off a big win against Castillo. Floyd fought Ortiz a champ and a top ranked fighter at 147 who came off a impressive win over Berto.

Meanwhile Pac fights guys coming off of loses, who have had bad performances or look past their best. See, Margarito, Mosley and Clottey fights for reference.

I want your boy Pac to take the test so he can get his ass kicked like all the rest. Mosley tested, Ortiz tested they both did and they got the fight. Why can't Pac? With that said Pac isn't a good enough technician to beat Floyd. He's far too flawed and limited. He has short arms, can't cut off the ring, he doesn't have a jab, he doesn't go to the body, he comes in off balanced and wide open, he can't fight on the inside, he can't fight backing up and he gets frustrated by movement. He will get picked apart and schooled by a master technician in grand fashion when they meet. There's a reason why Floyd is the betting favorite in this fight it's because he's a stylistic nightmare for Pac and for good reason he's a defensive counter-puncher who is more complete and better.

Also historically speaking the elite defensive counter-puncher beats the elite offensive fighter more often than not. This fight will remind me a lot of Hopkins-Tito or Whitaker-Chavez both of which are boxing clinics of a defensive technician taking a offensive forces to school shutting them down and making them look average and Floyd-Pac will resemble that.

I'm not really into boxing, but I did get really confused on this Saturday's Hopkins fight... Did he really lose that fight? Didn't Dawson literally grabbed his left leg and throw him on the ground? It looked like he tried to do that on purpose. Why would Hopkins fake it? For what?

Just curious.

Sucks for Hopkins to end his career like this.

Close fight tonight with Pacman and Marquez. Which I think its good for boxing fans cause now Mayweather was probly licking his chops after seeing this fight and might gain confidence to actually fight Pac.

I'm Pinoy and straight up I thought Pac lost everybody with me thought so too and they're all Pinoy as well.

This Pac vs Mosley and now Marquez looks like crap. If this is how he is gonna fight now, he doesn't stand a chance against Mayweather.

FFFUUUUUUUUU this guy is a boxer he needs to stop all this movie star/congressman/r&b singer/etc and focus on being a boxer.

Much of Pacquiao's fan's are pissed/disappointed on the outcome of this fight! was hoping to be an explosive, action-packed fight but both fighter's went the conservative route. Fan's were expecting Pacquiao a KO and separate himself from Marquez, until he beats Floyd Mayweather then he can be legitimately called the best P4P boxer of all time!

Blame Marquez for not finishing strong and be aggressive in the 12th rd. he is the challenger of course judges tends to favor the title holder if its a close fight!

+1 they should know that the champ always gets the win in a close fight. Its also Marquez's trainer fault for telling Marquez that he was leading into the 12th round. You never tell your fighter that in a close fight.
I love how when Max Kellerman ask Marquez and his trainer about that, they both completely ignore that question. LOL

Like any athlete in any sport, I think Pac had an off night. And of course Marquez is always his kryptonite. But that does not mean Floyd will walk over Manny. Just to compare JMM and Floyd, JMM has more heart and he punches back when hit, Floyd clinches. I had the fight even after round 10, Round 12 was definitely Manny's. I had him winning 1 round.

But regarding the fight, Marquez will always have Manny's number....bottom line and don't forget guys. "Styles makes fights."

I'm filipino, and that fight was tough to watch. It was even, and was really Pacquaio's to lose. But he didn't lose it, nor did Marquez go out and win it.

Marquez with the sombrero at the end was funny as shit....

rematch? That will be the fourth time, haha. Although i do agree that marquez landed better shots and should have won, he is the challenger and should have been more aggressive to make it a not so close of a fight. Judges usually favor the champion in a close fight

I agree. Marquez should have pressed in the 12th. Fight was very even up until then, Marquez was great with the counter punches and his straight right was on target as were the body shots in the earlier rounds to soften up Pacman.

Marquez was robbed but I'm glad to see Pac and his fans get humbled. This guy would get his socks boxed off by Floyd. Team Pac doesn't even want to fight Floyd and never did a clear duck and one of the biggest in boxing history. Instead they want to fight Marquez for the fourth time.
