In the games played so far, can't say that anyone looks unbeatable. A lot of parity at the party. Let's see what Monday brings.

damn cristiano ronaldo was all over the place. he even did his step over cross thing.. at the f'n world cup haha showboating as always. header hit the crossbar and then ripped that shot that the keeper barely saved.

portugal at times looked really quick and skillful with figo, ronaldo, and pauleta
and then again at times they looked like crap

also holland was good today. you hear the teammates controversy that robben was "ballhogging" haha, i dont think thats a bad thing considering he is a damn good player

Anybody involved in the ESPN fantasy for the world cup?

All eight picks were correct for me, ranking numero uno!

Cant wait to see USA, Brazil and France. All awesome teams. England didnt even play like they wanted to win. It looked like they were saving up for their upcoming matches. Just barely got by. USA has the second most experience in the World Cup with 12 players. Hopefully we can do it this year.

Not since the 1996 European Championship Semi-Final against Germany.

Being that its probably Beckhams last year, I thought theyd play much better. Everyone wants to see what they are capable of doing.

Time to get that USA motor fired up. Little more than 13 hours to go. Those Czechs are going down!

USA is in a tough division. Italy is Italy, the Czechs are a decent team, and Ghana is unbeaten in qualifying.

Absolutely the worst commentating I've ever heard in the Australia Japan game.

Not that I care about either of these two teams, but the lone goal so far clearly shouldnt have been allowed.

Holy mother of Aussies. 3 goals in 10 minutes. Talk about a "poetic justice".

That was nuts. I looked away for just a second and he scored 2. Next thing you know, there's another. Wow!

I dunno, it was a hell of a goal. Blistering bending shot from way outside the box hit just inside the post.

The 6'7" is out for the game? Injury or red card?

Czech Republic is ranked 2 in the world. Not that it means anything.

Hopefully they pick up the speed of the game a little bit in the second half.

j/k. I was hoping the US would win this game so they'd play with less pressure, thus lose when they face Italy on Sat. Now that that game looks like a must win for the US its going to be a very close game.

With all the problems that they are having in Italy, its a good possibility that the US could beat them. However, they wont have a chance if they play like the first half of todays game.

Like I said, this is a tough division. Possibly the toughest. All 4 teams are good, but IMO Italy will likely finish 1st.

Its not so much about whos healthy and not healthy...its the distractions of the betting, fixing matches etc scandal in Italy. We'll see how the players handle it.
