Shit. I'd bet 80% of these fouls are faked. I love soccer, but this is my biggest beef with it. That stretcher thing cracks me up. They haul these guys off the field like they're mortally wounded, then 1 minute later they're back on the field.

Most would stand a good chance of winning an Oscar

Remember the days before the players were forced to be stretched off? Back then, the stretcher would arrive on the field, then the player would magically stand up and the stretcher would be sent off. FIFA then forced the players to be stretched off the field, probably to embarrass the players, but it hasn't worked.

Got this from another forum.

Below are snippets of quotes provided by the Aussies to fox sports during their time in Germany.

"My parents have been there for me, ever since I was about 7." Tim Cahill.
"I would not be bothered if we lost every game as long as we won the league." Mark Viduka.
"Guus Hiddink is the best manager I've ever had at this level. Well, he's the only manager I've actually had at this level. But he's the best manager I've ever had." Lucas Neill.
"If you don't believe you can win, there is no point in getting out of bed at the end of the day." John Aloisi.
"I've had 14 bookings this season - 8 of which were my fault, but 7 of which were disputable." Ned Zelic.
"I've never wanted to leave. I'm here for the rest of my life, and hopefully after that as well." Mark Schwarzer.
"I'd like to play for an Italian club, like Barcelona." Vince Grella.
"I'm as happy as I can be - but I have been happier." Mile Sterjovski.
"I can see the carrot at the end of the tunnel." Craig Moore.
"I took a whack on my left ankle, but something told me it was my right." Harry Kewell.
"I couldn't settle in Italy - it was like living in a foreign country." Vince Grella.
"Germany is a very difficult team to play . . . they have 11 internationals out there." Zeljko Kalac.
"I always used to put my right boot on first, and then obviously my right sock." Jason Culina.
"The Brazilians were South American, and the Ukrainians will be more European." Scott Chipperfield.
"All that remains is for a few dots and commas to be crossed." Marco Bresciano.
"One accusation you can't throw at me is that I've always done my best." Craig Moore.
"I'd rather play in front of a full house than an empty crowd." Mark Viduka.
"Sometimes in football you have to score goals." Harry Kewell.

Post of the thread.

"I'd like to play for an Italian club, like Barcelona." Vince Grella.

Whats even funnier is that Vince is obviously of Italian decent.

I would agree if Deco was playing. But England midfield > Portugal midfield, which will make the difference.

It's going to be a fantastic quarterfinals, regardless of your biases.

I think the Argentina vs. Germany game will decide this year's champion.

meh, england will go down like the titanic against portugal. England is currently the most undeserving team stil in the cup, i wish they would have played germany in the second round so we could've been done with them already.

I disagree. Ukraine has had the most lucky bounces by far, and the 4-0 loss to Spain didn't help.

Natuerlich nicht. Niemand kann sie stoppen.

Weltmeister wird nur der DFB, nur der DFB, nur der DFB. Aber erstmal sind die Argentinier dran.

I caught a QF preview show last night and got to see alot more of Argentina than I had previously saw. They look good and are my pick to upset Germany tommorow.

England IMO hasn't shown anything that would suggest they can beat a Portugese team that's playing pretty well.

But Brazil looks unstoppable.

I agree I think Argentina will beat Germany, but I would hardly call it an upset.

But Brazil looks unstoppable.
They look good, but very stoppable IMO. 1-0 against croatia? They also had alot of problems with Ghana, despite the scoreboard. I still think they are favourites to win it all, but not by a large margin.
