Well, I think that fight answers any questions that the fans may have had after the second match.

The Jason MacDonald fight was amazing. The quote of the night came from Ed Herman:

"I should have just gone to sleep. Instead, I tapped out like a little bitch."

at Herman's quote.

I like seeing the TUF3 fights since that's my first TUF to watch. Didn't get to see Rory's.

Classy but somewhat cheezy way to end their beef.

if chuck can keep his thumb out of tito's eye it should be a good fight.

when was the last time someone was able to take chuck down? he made horn look silly with all of the failed take downs.

last time chuck called tito out and told tito that he wouldn't stand with him.

what are the chances of chuck taking it to the ground w/tito?

Did anyone hear what they said after the fight? When Ortiz was 'burying' him, and then flicked him off?

Shamrock: "Don't be like that man... we just made a bunch of money..."

What a crock of shit. That fight was probably fixed, which is why Dana W didn't put it on PPV.

i believe he what he meant was we made a bunch of money together over their 3 fights. at least that's how the announcers spun it and it sounds believable to me.

That $ statement right after the fight was bullshit, but I do not believe it was fixed. I just think that means with all the publicity they are getting from hating eachother, just made people some big bucks including themselves. It's sad though that if this is a fighters mentality, the sport is gonna go to shit.

Kind of why I stopped watching the NBA. Alot of people just care about the money and not about the love for the sport. I'm glad to see shamrock retire. He had his time, but now it's gone.

Now onto tonight!!!!

You stopped watching NBA because they cared about money? Don't we all care about money? Why do we hold up athletes on pedastals as if they can't have feelings of greed that you and I have? Shamrock's statement was pretty retarded though. You missed a pretty darn good playoffs.

Yep. I would rather watch NCAA then pros because at least those college kids play with heart. No 1 on 1 bullshit. Team play. And it's not just the NBA. Sure they are all playing for paychecks, but dont show it on the court, field, ice, etc.

Rich Franklin vs. Anderson Silva

Anderson Silva walks to the cage to the sounds of Redman’s “Time 4 Sum Aksion.”

Rich Franklin enters the cage to ACDC’s “For Those About to Rock.”

Round 1
Silva snaps a leg kick that finds its target. Rich lands a wild left hook. Silva lands a front kick. Anderson working strong knees to the body from the Thai clinch. Silva picking Rich apart with knees to the body. Rich is hurt. Anderson lands a punch combo then a knee to the face, forcing the ref to stop the fight. Anderson Silva destroys Rich Franklin with a visious display of Muay Thai.

I can't imagine someone fighting in UFC just for bragging rights or because he loves the sport. Those guys take a real beating. If there's no money in it, they would be idiots to set foot in the octagon.

Like I said previously, of course they are playing for the money, it's their job, BUT DONT SAY IT OR ACT LIKE IT!!!

And what kind of performance did Franklin put up. Holy shit I was yelling at the screen saying :get out of his clinch". I mean, he must have been a really strong guy (like franklin said) for him to not get out of that. Oh well, champions fall, butchampions rise back again. He'll be back for sure. Probably to fight Silva for the belt back in the future.

I saw this live. Damn the place was in shock when franklin got rocked. I was at Drai's at like 5am and saw Liddell and his whole crew there with a bunch of young groupie looking girls. Life is good for that guy right now

Push him against the fence and get to close for him to throw knees...and more importantly (which I don't know why Franklin didn't do it!) is to throw punches/elbows from over the top...the guy that has the clinch has his hands on the back of your head, so he can't block a punch!

1 of the commentators said to look out that franklin would be throwing elbows from the clinch but he never did. i saw him throw a couple of upper cuts but they weren't very effective.

Injury Update

For all of you who are concerned about Rich's injuries, here is what we know so far. His nose was reset in the locker room right after the fight. A few days later, after meeting with the Doctor, it was decided that he would need surgery on his nose. He had his blood work done on 10/18, his surgery is scheduled for 10/19 and then he will have a post-op visit on 10/23 to make sure everything is okay. Rich and his team appreciate all the support from his fans, and we will continue to update you as we get new information.

rich franklin fight was a bit upsetting....seemed as though Rich was trying to keep it on the feet as i didnt see one instance to take silva to the ground and i dont know why he didnt throw any fists or elbows up top. i think silva took all his energy & confidence bangin those knees kicks to his ribs and solarplex...

Tito and chuck IS going to be a great fight and it was funny about he eye gouging cause my brother is a die hard tito fan and thats all you here when the chuck tito fight is mentioned.. Dont sleep on chuck and the ground but he is no comparision to titos G and Pound..

Did anyone watch the Spencer fisher fight? He is one of my fav fighters. He even said before the fight with Lauzon that he was gonna beat the shit out of him...and prove that the fight with lauzons brother and jens pulver( another miletich fighter) was a fluke. I was laughing my ass off with fisher and matt wimans fight when spencer through the flying knee---hilariuos...

well florian impressed me by being able to withstand sherk for 5 rounds..that dude is like one big walking muscle --- i call him mini matt cause of his physique resemblance to matt hughes who i might add he went 5 rounds with and actually won 2 of the rounds at 170..at 155 he is just a beast..

whats the predictions for the hughes vs st peirre fight in nov?????????

I was late in watching the Silva Franklin fight. Can't figure out why Franklin didn't even try to break that clinch. he could have taken it to the ground. It's like he just told Anderson, here you go, hold my head and pound your knee into it

I just saw the fight today. Did Silva do anything in Pride as far as belts or good wins? I didn't know he was that good? He punished the best 185lb UFC fighter. Correction. He dominated the most dominant 185lb UFC fighter. Who else does Silva fight? Winner of TUF4 will be a cakewalk for him.
