I'm new to these forums by recently becoming a new TL owner (2006)

This seems like something I'm in need of and will LOVE!

I've read throughout this thread and your site and I'm sorry to say but I still have a few questions. Just to make sure it's all clear.

My situation: I have a 2006 Acura TL with only ONE key & one control. I will to get ONE of these "switchblades." Will I need to send my key in for you to cut it? If so, then I'll obviously have to go get one made while my key is out to you and I can use my car.

"Milled": Cutting the "lines/ridges" along the key.
"Cut": Actually the "mountains"
"Mem 1/2": Which ever I get, when I use the key . . .it'll automatically be set up when I turn the car to 1/2 memory set-ups, right?

For my car, I will just need to buy your switch blade, get it cut & milled and that's it, right? Or additional to have it work? "Programmed?"

Sorry for being "nEwB" but I just want to make sure I have it clear before I order.

And how long are these prices set for?

Thanks in advance

Sorry man I was out of town the last two weekends in a row (when i usually catch up w the forums!)

You got it all right there. The only other thing you might have missed was that we have added an option to swap the immobilizer for you so you can avoid teh dealer altogether.

This has probably been answered, so bear with me.

If I send you one of my keys (Driver 1/2 doesn't have any impact on me), you can do everything and when I get it back, it's ready to go?

What's the cost of the whole meal deal again?

We just listed a bunch of new info on the Fastline Performance switchblade as well:

http://www.heeltoeauto.com/pages.php?pageid=12

There is a very informative download as well as pics of the FLP key versus the competition. Check it out!

I am still kind of confused on how much this would cost.

How much for a complete ket ready to go. I need one of these switchblades cut and set for mem 1 and the immobilizer set also. I would be driving over there and dropping off whatever would be necessary.

Milled key is $126
Cutting is $30
Chip swap is $39

Total is $195 for a ready to go key.

All that is on this page where you can place your order:

http://www.heeltoeauto.com/Fastline-...-pr-64771.html

I highly recommend it I love my switchblade.

Thank you for the response.

Last questions: "Imovilizer" is a must? I have to get it done? What's it's purpose?

And I have only the Mem2 key...does that mean I can't get the switchblade with Mem1 function?

Thanks in advance

Yes without the immobilizer chip reprogrammed or swapped from your stock key you'll not be able to start the car!

Your current KEYS are universal, not mem1 or 2. The REMOTES are 1 and 2. Since these keys and remotes are all one piece, the SBKs come as Mem1 or Mem2. You can get either one you want.

Is there a difference between 2007 TL and 2007 MDX switchblades? from what I see, the MDX doesnt have a trunk button. Is there a size/quality difference?

Yes. But to clarify, the KEY in your car now is not Mem1 or Mem2. The memory function is built into the remote. We call these keys Mem1 or 2 because the remotes are built into them!

You will need to reprogram all mem keys at once and I think there is a max of remotes you can have of like 4-6 or something.

The MDX and RDX are probably basically the same then. They are likely the same make quality.

Ic an't say if the transmitter from an MDX will work on a TL though.

That the thing with the buttons on it you use to open and close the doors, keyless entry remotes. I can cut an chip swap the key to so it will work in your ignition, but on a 2G TL the buttons won't work to open the doors!

All the buttons wont work?

Will you ever find a way to make it work? if not then I will just buy the MDX which has no trunk button but if you think so then I will buy the TL key.

Just like the 99-03 TL, and 01-03 CL, it works in the car but the buttons won't work.

We do not have a solution for this. As far as an MDX key working I am not sure that would work, we'd need to try it out.

I have an 04 TL. Currently on my key chain i have way to many things. I have the key the original remote to lock/unlock and trunk funtions, plus my valet auto start remote.

My question is and just putting it out there. Would you be able to eliminate my remote for the starter and add it to the new switchblade that you provide. Hence totally eliminating the remote for the starter.

The switchblade will consolidate the door fob and the key, but the aftermarket button is not going to be eliminated since it is a completely separate system...

One last question (I know you must be overwhelmed with all questions thrown at you) but this is the last one that has me from being sure:

"Immobilizer chip swap" which is the service you provide. I know now what it's needed for. But with "swap" I'm assuming you're taking it from my key I have now, right . . . meaning you're taking it OUT of my current key? (I only have one key with remote)

If that's so, this means my current key will NOT work and only my Switchblade will.

I'm in need of a second set of keys since I bought my car last month and only ONE key w/ remote was with it. So I feel this is a great opportunity to get that second set (switchblade) but want BOTH working.

Thanks in advance

You are going to need to order the swtichblade without the chip swap. This is the only way you arr going to get another (second) key.

If you want me to cut the switchblade for you all you need to do is get a cheapie copy made at the hardware store and send it for me to work off of. It will make a good emergency door opener key if you need one later as well.

Want to appreciate all of your patience because damn do I have 101 questions.

I'm just confused because I was under the impression if I were to get a switchblade it will NEED the "chip swap" in order to work with my car.

Since I was thinking of having two set of keys, ordering a switchblade from you, you say order one WITHOUT the "chip swap." So how will it work?

Sorry, I have a damn calculus class over the summer that drains my brain.

EDIT:

From your site:

I see.

Pretty much answers my questions!

Thanks again.

Now before I order, I guess calling local HONDA dealers to see how much they charge to program my key.

Does anyone know for sure if a 2007 MDX Switchblade will be able to be milled/cut to fit TL (2000)?

I didn't see this addressed anywhere, but I have an already milled switchblade key and wanted to have you cut it. I don't trust the locksmiths in my area. Also can you take the immobalizer out of the valet key?

We can do it. Does that transponder work on the door locks?
