Hi Marcus,
I just picked up an '06 TSX and would like to get one of your switchblades. After reading through your excellent instructions I'm left with one question: of the 2 master keys I have one is so worn that it barely resembles the other... hard to believe that they both work in the same lock.
What should I send off to you if I want you to do the whole package? Obviously the worn key is the one I'd like gutted for the chip, but since the edges are so eroded I can't see how it would work as a pattern for the cutting. I had the dealer cut a new valet key for me so I have 3 keys. Can I include that key for you to use and have it returned with the switchblade or do you require a master key for the cutting?
TIA,
SRS

It is much better to send the least-worn key you have. But if it both still work in the locks it really doesn't matter which you send.
I can work off the valet key, or if you feel like it you can send me both masters. I'll copy the cut of the better one and cut the chip from the worse one.

I have a 2004 TSX and I got a switchblade key for it a couple of years ago.
Now I would like to get one for wife's new (to us) 2006 MDX Touring.
Do you have the 2 button keys? Are they available with Memory function?
How do I order? I did not see an option for 2 button keys on your website,,, did I miss them?
Thanks!

I was hoping you could tell me if the buttons could be programmed to work with an 06 MDX. You know a lot more than most about key/remote compatability.
I saw that the first page lists the 06 MDX as using the same key blank that you mill, but I did not find any other reference to an MDX as far as the buttons working. Am I the first to ask?
Thanks for any help!

I have an MDX, but not a 2 buttom swittchblade key (the TL-S key I have is for my TSX).
I thought maybe you offered the 2 button keys since they were on page 1 of this post, but it sounds like you could mill one if I already had one.
I guess I am the first to ask about a 2 button switchblade for an MDX.
Are you saying I could try to reprogram the buttons on my TSX(TL-S style) key to see if they work on the MDX, and if they do, that a 2 button RSX key would also work? If yes, can you supply the RSX key?
What type of key do the new MDXs use? Are they switchblade, and might they work?

Doesn't the valet key have limited functionality for opening things in your car (ie glovebox). In the past that used to be the case in previous cars but I haven't tested it out on my TSX.
So my question to Marcus would be, if I send the valet key, will it be fully functional for opening all locks on my 06 tsx (manually of course)?

Happy customer of the Heel Toe TL Switchblade key for my TSX.
It took a total of only 10 days from the day I sent it to when I got it back.
Keys fit, turned, and worked perfectly.
Would recommend.
I recommend sending in the valet key, since its least used and its easier to replicate the cut design.

Will this key work with Canadian model 06 TL? cuz my dealer told me there are some small differences, so they wont assure me if they can program it untill they try. And i wont be able to send my key in since i have only 1 set. Is there anyone have the Canadian model and works fine with this key?

I got your email but will reply here:
Yes it can be programmed in Canada the same as in the USA. It is the same key and programming process.

idk wth acura was thinking while honda gives accord a better looking key. both 3G TL and 7G accord were launched in 2004, and they are basicly the same

what is the turn around time to get this done? I only have one set of keys. I only got one when I purchased the car used. Also, I only have one set of the FOB to unlock the doors. How much do acura dealers charge to program it? I essentially want 2 sets of keys in case of emergencies. The switchblades and the stock ones it came with.

If you only have one key:

You said you only have one "set" of keys. Does this mean you only have one key?
To get the cost from a dealer, call a local one and ask, since they all charge differently.

Hello MrHeeltoe,
I bought a switchblade from another member on here and was wanting to send it in to have it done. I was reading about you having the keys in stock? Is there a long wait time to have the keys done and are they in stock right now? I would be sending you the switchblade and my valet key. I would need it milled, possibly cut, and immobilizer swapped.
On a side note, my switchblade is a mem2, could I switch it with a mem1. If not, it's no big deal.
Thanks,
