Thanks a bunch Marcus! I just received the keys today. They look fantastic!
I'll have them cut on Monday and will post pictures.

Please check your e-mail, there's a small issue that we can hopefully resolve quickly.

I had ordered a mem 1 and mem 2 key and was instead sent two mem 1 keys.

Marcus quickly responded and sent out a mem 2 key. Thanks again!

Anyway, getting them cut next Monday and will have pics up!

Sooo happy! I received the Mem 2 key today (Thanks a bunch Marcus!) and have both keys cut.

Here are some pictures!

I was able to get the key cut and the imobilizer chip programed for 50 bucks at my local Acura dealer in Omaha.

Ok...im interested in these keys but i have an 04 Base TL, i was wondering if i buy a switchblade from you, would it work? Since my control and key are separate. (key stands alone and the remote is not on the key, its a separate device)

The key will work for your 2004 TL. I purchased one for mine. A good locksmith or the dealer will need to program the transponder for you! And FYI... My local locksmith is only charging me $20.00 to program the transponder since the key is already cut.

Not at all. Just make sure that you order the Mem 2 key if that's what you use the most.

thanks! I thought it would effect it because the back of my remote is completely scratched. After i program the new key, will my old remote still work? for locking and unlocking? (just in case)

I just got my key back today!! It works perfect!! I had marcus mill and cut (I sent him one of my keys) and it is absolutely flawless!!! Thanks alot Marcus!!!! I think, but I'm not sure, that as long as you take all the keys with you when you have the transponder programmed then they should all work!! But double check that!!

...i found a dealer that will do it for $110 and cut it too.
($110 if they cut it or not anyway) might as well have them cut it.
cant wait for my key though

My dealer wouldnt cut it, said they couldn't because the case was to large for their machine to hold...but I think they just didnt want the liability... Had Lowes cut it for $1.90 and it works flawlessly... Had the dealer program it and I will be walking funny for weeks ($90 and took less than 30 min from when I pulled in the garage).

I've got an appointment Saturday to get mine programmed. If anyone is near the Philly area Montgomeryville Acura will program the key for $40, instead of the $110 that Piazza Acura wanted to charge me...

I did a search for program remote and found this procedure, does anyone know will this work to program the switchblade key? Also how does the car know whats key 1, key 2? Is it the order in which they are programmed?

1. Turn the ignition switch on (II on the ignition)
2. W/in 1-4sec, push the transmitter lock or unlock button with the transmitter aimed at the keyless receiver unit. (Just at the steering wheel is fine)
3. W/in 1-4sec, turn the ignition switch off
4. W/in 1-4sec, turn the ignition switch on(II)
5. W/in 1-4, push the transmitter lock or unlock button w/ the transmitter aimed at the receiver again.
6. W/in 1-4sec, turn the ign. switch off
7. W/in 4sec, turn the ignition switch On(II)
8. w/in 1-4sec, push the transmitter lock or unlock again.
9. w/in 4 sec, turn the ign off
10. w/in 4 sec, turn the ign ON
11. W/in 1-4, push the transmitter again
12. Confirm you can hear the sound of the door actuators. W/in 1-4sec, push the trans lock or unlock button again.
13. W/in 10sec, aim the transmitters (up to three) whose codes you want to store at the receiver, and press the transmitter lock or unlock buttons. Confirm that you can hear the sound of the door lock actuators after each transmitter code is stored.
14. Turn the ignition switch off, and pull out the key.
15. Confirm proper operation with the new codes

I PM'd Ron A to ask if he thought it would work,

he made a good point...

Marcus milled and cut the keys for us, but he didnt move the immobolizer chip into the new key which would need to be done before you could program the key to the car so I might just suck it up and pay the dealer the $40

The immobilizer chip will work natively (with programming of course) for the following cars:
04-08 TSX
04-06 TL

You will have to swap out the immobilizer chip with the following cars:
02-06 RSX
01-06 MDX

I hope this helps!

I called the dealer on my lunch today and he said the same thing lol...I just re-read the PM from RonA and I misunderstood him. Sorry for the confusion people.

With that being said I will be trying those programming instructions tomorrow morning to see if I can do it myself. If anyone else has had success programming these switchblades using this method I'd love to hear some feedback.

You can't program the immobilizer chip yourself!! You have to access the cars CPU to do that!! The instructions above are how you program the key to lock and unlock the doors!! I just had my key programmed by a local locksmith and it took him 10 minutes and he charged me $20.00 and he also programmed all the buttons (lock/unlock) for me. You have no choice but to suck it up and either find a locksmith or take it to the dealer!!

Milling is the process of taking the unformed key portion of the key and "cutting" the grooves that run longways into it.

Cutting is the process of actually matching the "valleys and hills" of the key to your original key.

I hope this makes sense.

Yeah I've been trying for the last 20 minutes and I cant get it to work, I guess I'll just go to the dealer or find a locksmith.

I was curious yesterday and wanted to see what would happen if you tried to start the car with the non-programmed SBK. It started and quickly stalled then it wouldnt even turnover.
Then I put a regular key with a working chip on top of the steering column and it still didnt start.
I thought the chip just had to be in the vicinity of the column to work guess I was wrong.
