Where Did My Garage Go?!!
iTrader: (3)
Just got the new Y-Pipe put on today by an exhaust shop....figured maybe there was something I did that couldnt get the muffler to align. Unfortunately, same problem. One muffler clearly sticks out further than the other. They did fix the hanger so it doesnt touch my body kit. I will post pictures tomorrow....
Marcus...I guess it was the muffler then...

Well, we have not heard from everyone that there is a problem, but either way ATLP is supposedly handling it. These have a longer history of being awesome and desirable than poor fitting and sounding weird. I honestly am not sure what the issue is, which is why we passed it to ATLP to address. Have you notified them of the problem with the y-pipe?

I have fitment problems, but it's not so horrible that I cant live with it. I do like the exhaust tho, so the fitment issue is not a deal breaker for me. However, I agree if you're paying $1100 for an exhaust, it should not have these kinds of problems.

I agree fully with you guys. I am not sure what the issue is since we have had multiple production runs with the same producer and fixtures with no complaints. But somehow something must have gotten messed up. I am not going to be selling more of these until I know they are for sure worked out. The Quads on the other hand appear to have no issues.

Hey guys, I haven't receive an e-mail besides one person directly so it's probably my fault that I should be checking with this thread more often.
Either way, we did have a re-fit with one of the left over systems from the batch we had left over. We did several things to assure that the build and fitment was correct. Keep in mind the jig itself it welded together (steel structure) that doesn't move, and hasn't changed since the first article we produced. We made everything lined back up within specs into the jig to make sure there wasn't any variation during actual assembly, and everything was within specs.
However, when we installed it, we were able to produce the same issue that some were having here. But on the bright side, we were able to remedy it within a few minutes and pretty much bring it back within specs of "perfect" fitment.
Each of the components has a build in adjustment to it that you can play with to adjust the final fitment. I would highly suggest loosening the mufflers one by one, pushing it back if one side looks in more, and pulling the other side out. While someone is doing that, tighten the bolts again. Also, "correctly" installing the system doesn't mean that the flange is exactly aligned with the other flange, as this will vary on your car. So don't pay attention to the orientation of the actual flange area, but rather the orientation of the tip.
If you need a walk through, please give me a call (818) 746 6997. Or, if you are local to us, please feel free to come in and we will adjust it for you. If we can't adjust and fix it, which I guarantee we will, we will gladly take back the system and give you a full refund.

Down for a photoshoot?

Hey guys, seems like people are having issues with the tips not lining up perfectly (extending too much on one side)???
To be completely honest with you, what Mike explained above is absolutely true in regards to adjusting the tip alignment during installation. During installation of the base exhaust in the past for a friend, I was able to make adjustments due to the same fitment problem and corrected it enough to the point in which it looked pretty darn good ... you have to remember that the system is FOUR INDIVIDUAL PIECES according to my understanding, and every single connection point is going to have leeway in terms of adjustment up to perhaps a 1/4 inch ... that would mean that technically you can adjust the tip extension to your liking during installation ...
Basically, you'd need someone to hold the muffler assembly by the exhaust tip in free space in the exact orientation that you prefer and then tighten the bolts in that orientation ... I'm not sure how bad it is in the case of some of the people here, but this procedure is definitely worth a shot as it only requires you getting underneath the car with a wrench/socket and buying a drink for a friend to hold the tip for you lol. Afterward, all you would need to do is check on the tip to see that it's holding up in the same position![Tomato](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/tomato.gif)
I would say trying this out is A MUCH CHEAPER method of addressing this issue!!! Given that ATLP uses a welded, permanent jig AND some people do not seem to have this problem, I'm pretty sure it's not a flaw in the design but that of installation ... Just my![2 Cents](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/2cents.gif)
Wish I can only afford one ...
