Is their anything we can do about the fitment issue on the exhaust Marcus. Kind of bothers me knowing the tip is touching the car, and the passengers side tip stick out a bit further, I can see the welds on the one side but not the drivers side.

Is anyone else a little raspy? I have the RV6 V3 jpipe. I'm hoping this will go away as the exhaust breaks in a little more.

I have an rv6 too and yes I hear raspyness. And yes, I have fitment issues on the passenger side touching the aspec bumper. I can already see it melted a tiny bit of the plastic. What did you guys used to bend the hangers?

Im not sure if u dont have an aspec kit. But you shouldnt be worried, cuz its not a huge problem. As you can see from the pic it is barely touching. I guess bending the hanger will fix that... I'll figure something out tomorrow and post back

This is how mine sounds. I want to make sure that the raspyness is not a exhaust leak. Opinions? Im talking about that ringing sound at the end of the rev. Sounds like metal vibrating

man this rasp is getting to me now. Its that metal clattering noise at the top of the rev. I would say around 4.5k rpm. I listened to the atlp base videos on youtube and they dont have it. Am I the only one? Maybe I have a leak somewhere? Or could it be the rv6?

Before precats I didn't have any rasp and that was with ATLP V2 j-pipe, ATLP race pipe and the base exhaust.

This is what my fitment looks like. I know this isn't Marcus's fault, I'm just wondering if their is anything to be done about this. $1,100 is a lot to pay for an exhaust that has fitment issues.

I am emailing ATLP now on it. We'll get it fixed guys, try not to freak out and post 10 times a day. Also, it is decidedly better to email me with issues rather than posting. I won't see your posts as soon as I see the emails and you will have a delay in service.

Alright it seems like about 2 people from this batch are having some fitment issues with the tips.

We have sent out a Y-Pipe replacement to one of them to verify that it's a problem on our end and not install.

Please keep in mind, install instructions to align the mufflers are very important to do step by step.

Finger-tighten all bolts.
Have someone hold the tips in position centered while someone else does the final tighten sequence starting from the front to the rear of the car.
Please try this as installation and using a bit of elbow grease is all it takes, and it may simply be a user error since a lot of people have resolved this issue in the past by simple this.

Also, the rasp is from the RV6 V3 J-Pipe. If you don't want the rasp, the ATLP V2 J-Pipe/Race Pipe combo doesn't produce any rasp and has also just been dyno'd on the 3.5l engine.

^ I had ATLP J-Pipe and race pipe with the ATLP Base and had absolutly NO rasp.

I'm with aznbo187, it's the RV6 V3 J-pipe that creates the rasp.

Mike, you sent a pipe to someone from the LAST batch. The people posting in these later pages are new people.

Yeah I was just about to take it to a shop this weekend to fix the fitment. I'll try to do the install again with someone holding the tips centered.

Just want to be clear, rasp = that higher pitch, metal vibrating sound? In my vid you can hear it at :35, :42, :45, have to turn up ur speakers a bit. And everyone with the rv6 has it? Never noticed it until I put the exhaust on.

Sometimes a little raspiness is cool...don't assume it is a bad thing everyone. Only criticize it if you personally don't like it

Agreed. The exhaust sounds awesome if you dont punch it. Love the deep throaty sound. But punching it above 3.5k rpm the rasp kicks in. I hear it even when the car is warmed up. I personally hate it
I am considering switching to atlp jpipe/test, but gotta hear that for myself in person first.

Trust me, it'll sound soooo much better with the ATLP J-pipe/race pipe combo You'll actually hear the roar of the exhaust at lower RPMs, sounds fucking sick!

I have about 700 miles on the exhaust. It's still Raspy with the RV6-V3, if I let it gradually climb I don't get any rasp.

I'm thinking about it too. I wonder how much ATLP would charge us to swap the two parts, assuming the mufflers and everything else wouldn't need to be sent back, just the mid pipe or whatever. It's to much of a hassel for me to sell the RV-6 put the stock one on until the ATLP V2 comes then swap that one.

If it was me, I wouldnt until I actually hear a resonated version in person. Or at least a vid. But it'll probably hard to find another person with rv6 v3 and atlp resonated... guess you could be the guinea pig lol

Hello there,

I am the lucky customer from the last batch who just got the new y-pipe. I am going to try and get it installed this weekend to see if it will fix the fitment issues. I too had problems with the alignment of my tips as one sticks out a little further than the other. My passengers side barely touches my aspec kit as well, so I will let everyone know if can get it fixed with the new y-pipe.

Fitment is not an issue, the tips are huge and only have 1mm or 2mm at most to work with on either side. Who ever is installing the exhaust would have to hand tight the bolts first and check for tip clearance before tightening everything.

My ATLP base exhaust was from the first batch ever made and it has been on the car for 14 or so months now with about 20k miles driven. Everyday I fall in love with it all over again . I just made a couple of videos to show what your exhaust will sound like once its thoroughly broken in.

My set up is

ATLP V1 J-pipe
Richies resonated test pipe
ATLP Base, non resonated.

All videos are HD. The ones I made today were made late in the evening, so they are a tad out of focus. Camera used for both sets of videos is the same.
