Yes. Vinny showed up in a POS Mitsubishi several times, and Kris has had a knack for bringing the worst car in his stable (who drives a Maxima when they can drive an S4? ). Your Altima easily bests either of those cars. Also, we often have people's friends show up with non-Acura cars...it's all good.

The misses and I will be in NY for the December C&C, however, we will be at the October and November. We typically go whether there is an Acura meet setup or not. Each time we have gone we have met a few members as well, so it works out...

Oh and yeah, C&C is from 8am - 11am... however, we typically do not show up until 9am. Judging by the turnout... most other people do not show up until 8:30am-9am as well.

Basically I want to buy a house

I'm tired of paying monthly payments for something that is depreciating every single day. The car is getting older and racking up miles. I decided to put my money into something useful and beneficial.

Gotta grow up and stop throwing away money. A house is an awesome investment, especially now! Best time to buy. My plan is to buy and re-sell when the market jumps back up. My parents are behind this decision 100% and I think it's pretty wise as well.

I love my TL and I will own one again for sure! I can't afford to have both things yet. Hopefully you guys agree

Once I sell it I'll make to let you guys know how the house hunting goes.

Your TL depreciates slower (and lasts longer) than most cars on the road. Cars are rarely an investment, but a TL is a damn good value considering you've got to pay to drive something.

It's killing you because you can't drive the TL - so it's like money down the drain.

What you need to do is pay it off. Then you've got no payment and a little equity if you have to sell it later. Oh, and dump that (volvo?) ASAP.

Jim's right; keep the TL, pay it off, and dump that POS you bought. Also stop modding it. Save your mod money towards a house. When you no longer have the car payment, save that money towards a house. You're 22, no need to rush home ownership. I bought my house when I was 23; trust me, it sounds great, but it's not all it's cracked up to be...yet another thing I was told about, thought I knew otherwise, and have had to accept that "they" were right.

I'm surprised how well the Acura holds it's value. Auction prices are still the same as when I first bought the TL a year ago, pretty good!

Your right, the fact that I can't drive it is really bugging me. But at the same time I'm not putting miles on it, so once I start driving it in May 2010 it will still only have 63K.

Haha, it's a Saab and I can still get my money back on it.

Sometimes I think 22 is so young and I still have everything ahead of me and other times I'm like wow I'm getting old.

I still owe about 13K on the TL and I think I can pay that off in about 14-16 months. I like the idea of keeping the TL and paying it off quickly.

Thank you for the input guys! I'm open to all idea and suggestions. But not driving the TL is really hurting lol that Saab is NOTHING like it

Another way to look at it would be to purchase before the tax credit deadline. File an amended tax return for this year and receive your $8,000 check in about 3 weeks after you close!

I'm a RE/MAX broker and can explain the details to you if you want. These guys all know who I am.

Keep it man. I'm in the same boat you are. I'm ready to get a place of my own, at least get an apartment. It's not that I hate my living situation at home, I'm just ready to take responsibility and have a place that I can call my own.

At the same time I owe 14k on my TL. I've been thinking about selling it but I'm just not sure anymore. I don't want it to be money wasted, but I hate owing money, especially if I don't have to.

Official Cars & Coffee and Charlotte Azine Meet Thread 12/5/09

Ok guys, after a few PM's and posts here it seems like most everyone would be on board for a Dec. meet. Lets consider this the official thread for this meet(Jim, please move to the appropriate spot if needed). I am going to try and set up the meet in conjuction with the Dec. Cars & Coffee. The day would start with as many guys as we can get rolling up to the C&C, then we would all go and grab lunch somewhere and then we would all go and have the meet. The last meet we had here in Charlotte was a great turnout and we had membes from all over the Carolinas show up, I am hoping that we can get a similar turnout for this one. So, please all NC,SC,VA and even FL(thats you Vinny!) feel free to try and make it. I need to gauge interest in who would be coming so I can try and set up reservations somewhere for us to eat lunch. As we did at the last meet I would like to try and set up a staging inthe morning for C&C, then set up lunch and then onto the meet. I am open to suggestions for locations for both lunch and the meet. The last time we did this we set up the meet at a parking deck here in the Ballantyne area, I am more than happy to do that again. However, it was suggested to me that a park would be a good setting for the meet. I am open to suggestions and at this time I would like to set up an official list. When signing up please include the following information: Screen name, real name(just first name is fine), weather or not you will be at the C&C staging and if you will be attending the lunch. For now I would like to set the staging up at 7:45am at the Stcky Fingers in Ballantyne. As always, spouses/significant others and kids are more than welcome to attend. Times, locations and more specific details will be firmed up as the meet gets closer.
I will get the list going...

Jesse, maybe something on the North Side/University area. A little less drive for anyone from GB/WS, Raleigh, etc and reasonably convieneint to C&C.

Just a thought.. Someone may want to start a thread in the Mid-Atlantic region about the meet now. I doubt any of them look around here. It would give those guys plenty of time to plan if they want to come. It would be awesome to get some guys from the VA for the meet.

I'm confused as to why the R-D guys (or anyone coming from north of Charlotte for that matter) are going to the staging, unless you're staying at a hotel in Ballantyne Friday night. Northlake is on the north side of town, Ballantyne is on the south side; you'll be driving across town and back for no reason .

I'll be in Charlotte area friday night anyways. Going to make a long weekend out of it. I think rolling deep to C&C would be awesome. That's the only reason I'm gonna be at staging. Like a 15 min drive from where I'm gonna be

I think Bobby hit it on the head there, it was pretty sweet with six of us rolling to C&C last time...I can only imagine having 10+ ruling 485.
