Mine has a chronic state inspection issue that has persisted for years.
Haha. I remember your TL, yeah I can see why.

I was referring to the ones with the front 2 cats monitored and the 3rd downstream one not. Asking because I recently picked up a 2012 TL 6MT Shawd and she already has an XLR8 V2 j-pipe which eliminated the 3rd cat. Was hoping this would not be an issue!
I can't to see it man. I'm excited to see what the production model will come out to be. I'm still wondering what motor they're going to go with and the power it'll put out. You know Honda/Acura are refined and conservative with their numbers on power. Lol. The V6 in the TLX 2015-19 could have easily been pushed above the 300hp mark.
Eh. It's vaporware as far as I'm concerned. When the Type S comes, it won't look like that. And it won't be as powerful as the rumors claim. It'll just be another let down.

I'm jaded by Acura these days.
Dear Mister Morgan,
Those old school acura folks are no longer with the company. There are some new ones and they have changed the direction. They are claiming to be almost strictly performance driven. The NSX was the beginning, then the RDX, [which is cool, I don't know what the fuck Tyler is talking about, he's a little bitch] And then the MDX type S will be next, with the TLX to follow. So you both need to pay attention and get back into an acura like the old days.
And look, even if the TLX doesn't start out with 400 hp, k tuner and hondata will have their flashes available which will add 60 hp or more all day long. This next TLX will be an animal.

My Dearest Eric,
The NSX is an anonymous vehicle that has not really reached any sales success. Is it a good car with some interesting tech? Absolutely. But that came out how many years ago now? And after how many more years of development? The tech that came out in the NSX should have trickled down to the Type S variants by now - except they still don't exist. We shouldn'tbe waiting for a new Type S TWELVE years after the previous model. After all, the Type S prototype is an updated version of the Precision Concept that came out over 3 years ago. That's a generational gap in the Honda world.
Regarding those pencil pushers, they may claim to be performance oriented, but where is the proof to back up those claims? Their one true performance car, the NSX? That car was born under those old school Acura folks. Aside from that, they have an SUV that's getting pretty old now (MDX), a CUV that looks like a Honda HRV from behind (RDX), the somehow cheaper feeling, yet more expensive version of the Accord (TLX), and a dressed up Civic (ILX). Their failed experiment for a luxo-barge is being discontinued since they just can't seem to sell them (RLX). I certainly hope they don't think their A-Spec packages add performance...
The Type S used to hold its own against the German sports sedans, but even if a ttv6 version comes out with 400hp, what is it competing against? The Kia Stinger? Most of the cars that the Type S used to compete with are now so far ahead that Acura would have had an uphill battle in 2014, much less six years later. Maybe I've just been spoiled by VW products over the past few years, but in order to get a 60hp gain in the CTR, you need a Hondata and an E25 blend. Otherwise, you're looking at around 40whp and 70wtq on pump 93. 60hp on the VW 2l is a bad stage one 91 pump gas reflash. Most pick up ~70whp and 90wtq. If Hondas TTV6 requires a reflash to keep up with the competition, I surely hope that the gains are larger, because the gains on the 4cyl aren't very impressive.
I really want Acura to get back to form, but they've been blind to market trends, have no idea how to package vehicles, and apparently don't understand what the word "performance" means anymore. I don't foresee them putting out a worthwhile vehicle in the next 2-3 years.
Wife and I will be getting two black ones after about the 3rd year of them being one. So we don't have $100k of vehicles sitting in the driveway. Lol. Plus by then any issues will have been worked out at least. People keep talking about that it won't be a match for the German competitors. I don't care. Less maintenance cost/issues. Higher resale value. If I want German, I'll go German. Not because the product has more power or looks better. If the E90 and F80 M3 cost the same as an Acura/Honda to maintain and cost about the same, I'd get one. But no. I'll stick with my Acura. If you're only in the Acura just because it offers the performance of what you want for the time, you're a car whore. Hahahah!
I saw two white kia stingers earlier. Looked pretty cool. But the name Kia. I just cant. It doesn't bother me if the Type S comes out with less horsepowers than the stinger.
But can you guys agree that the blue concept is sexy af?!

So I found out that its possible that each model is going to have a Type S trim. Instead of just being the $50-60k TLX Type S its going to have that but then like a lower trim as well. Like maybe a base Type S on each model. Which seems like there might be a $35k Type S option on the TLX. Not confirmed. But would be cool and me and the wife can get one sooner. Lol.
And yes. the Type S concept, especially in that blue look sexier than Scarlett Johannson
Look, I know acura hurt your feelings and produced some lame shit, but they're back. This type S is coming and it's going to be sexy. You guys need to stop rebelling.
Also, anyone going to the bears and gears event tomorrow (feb 29)at the sugar creek brewery. If you don't know about it, just show up at 12 and there should be a large congregation of exotic cars.

I decided that I'm going to get my wife's TLX V6 Tech Package and let her get the Type S. Her car has all the thing I want and it's in great condition. Plus I'll be able to drive the Type S when I want. Lol

Thank you very much!! I love this car so much, the full XLR8 exhaust setup sounds perfect on this gen (IMO). She is my mistress according to the wife... hahaa.
I'm slowly assembling the a-spec kit, I have the side skirts already and I'm actively looking for a deal on the front lip bits before I put them on the car. Still undecided on the rear bumper pieces for now, but I'll probably get them if I find them at a decent price since they are probably going to discontinue the kit soon.
@Shadow2056 Do you work up in the Northlake (Statesville Rd and WT Harris) area? I see a nice looking Silver 3rd Gen TL from time to time when I leave work and head home. Just wondering if that might be you?
