Tuner Evo After Party was great. Small. But Great.

5 TL's and one TSX. Very Nice People though.

I will post pics once the center caps are done!

sadly my car got backed into this afternoon. A teenager was driving in front of me in a shopping center, she stopped, put her car in reverse without looking and drove right into the front of my car. she said she was trying to pull into a spot and just didnt check for cars behind her. My hood is bent and needs replaced, wrap on the front bumper is scuffed and scraped up. Her mother came and said to please not go through insurance.

Have yall had experience with replacing hoods? is it hard to get it aligned?

just a quick thought that crossed my mind....i did a quick search and found a hood for 440 (shipping is 156) i think i need 5-6 feet of wrap, so lets say thats 75 shipped for material, so without labor of wrap thats $671 rough estimate, i found a VIS CF hood for 750 shipped. what do you guys think about if i went with the CF hood instead of wrapping another one. of course i would get a quote for installation to wrap the hood and tack that on too to the final estimate. what would you do if you were in my predicament?

she said to just get some quotes and they will handle it. im going to be fair, but all in all a new CF hood would be cheapter than a new OEM wrapped hood

front bumper will need to be rewrapped too but nothing needs to be replaced. but right now trying to figure out the hood situation

she was driving a 97 civic hatchback. so there is like a 10 dollar paint pen worth of damage to her rear bumper.

Dan that really suck, if I don't go thru insurance I usually ask for cash on the spot. So both parties take equal risk. I would go oem. Cf hood need some alignment plus some don't latch on well. At least lower brand cf hood not saying an vis or other high end one since I have no experience with those. How could she not see your car through a small car like an hatchback.

I'll be uploading my pictures tomorrow.

Ben, I'm sorry to hear about your car It looked absolutely fantastic on Saturday and I got some decent pictures of it. If she's paying for it, I would just get a regular OEM hood. I've seen the VIS hood for the TL and while the fit isn't terrible, it's not amazing either.

MAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNN that Blows!

I hope you took down the information. Just Incase.

I would look for this as an opportunity. I would look at Carbon Fiber, but an OEM hood isnt a bad option either.

Depends on if you want to go farther in the modifying process, or put cash in your pocket for other mods.

Post a picture or 2 of the carnage so we can know the pain.

GO THROUGH INSURANCE. DO NOT LISTEN TO THEM. Trust me only bad things can come from that. It isn't your fault.

Also pull the wrap off the bumper as quickly as possible and check I bet the paint is cracked on your bumper and would need to be redone for when you pull the wrap off.

Ben, I agree with Jason - go through insurance.

Also, I had the ViS hood on my CL. The fitment and quality sucked. I'd go OEM.

Good seeing everyone on Saturday that came out. I had an awesome time and hope Jay and the crew return next year. Lots of really nice cars.

That sucks Ben.

Congrats to Jason on his first place Acura.

Uploading photos to flickr now so hopefully I will get them posted tonight.

First full day at the new job.

I can tell its going to be hard work. I came home and weighed myself, down 4lbs. I didnt sweat all day, so it has to be more than water loss.

Hard, Honest Work + Nice Paycheck = Job well done

On a side note, I need to get new tires ordered in a week or two to go low...

....anyone know of a place that stretches tires besides Eurowise?

This is Nam from Phantasm. I bought the intercooler, roll cage, exhaust, and te37s from him. And quite a few other random parts.

Had the opportunity to do a 2nd a 3rd gear pull with Andrew in the wagon on the way home. Quickest car I've raced in a while.

I would upload some of my shots, but:

-Acurazine keeps denying me photo upload-ability access
-My photos are all of wheel fitments

So we have Cars and Coffee Round 2 this Saturday.
Sunday is Cars and Clouds.

After that, besides Cars and Coffee, the Show Season is over.

So what is everyone's winter time plans for their cars?

FR-S (if I don't change my mind again and sell it):
-sell Vortech kit
-header
-intake
-4.56 final drive
-motor mounts
-fix shifter
-fix exhaust
-clutch & flywheel
-aluminum driveshaft
-front lip
-possibly sell Recaros for lighter seats
-possibly e85 flex fuel kit
-tune; shooting for 205whp on pump, 220 on corn

I'd like to get the car down to ~2500lbs too, but that may be difficult.

IS300:
-new tires
-install the coilovers I've had sitting in the garage since April
-alignment

Quality photos gentlemen.

No real winter plans for the car tbh...if my clutch fails then I'll probably replace it, that's it.

I think I'm going to try and drop by Cars n' Clouds on Sunday.

Well I was supposed to work this weekend and miss all the shows. My dad might be around this weekend so the only thing I will probably make it too is Cars and Coffee if the weather is good.

I have some winter plans in my head for both cars. I just have to decide which car I want to do cause the budget only allows for one. It will probably be the TSX that wins out as it needs an updated look for the new year. Even Megan said that it was time for a change So to the drawing board I go it seems.

This picture in my avatar and this below might be my starter for inspiration.

I have to go in now at 8:30am on Saturday for Safety Training for my new job. So no Cars and Coffee for me.

However I will be there for Cars and Clouds at some point!

I see this.

I will respond.

Sometime this weekend when I make time.

Working in a warehouse from 9am-6pm moving 60lb boxes and 100lb tires wears me out. I am usually in bed by 10pm.

Alex Baum is the man! He and I did his wheels in my drive way!

He will be at Cars and Clouds this sunday.

Everyone else should come and we have a good time! Maybe grub at Chilli's next door as an acura family?
