Warranty fixes on lowered cars...

I just went to Sierra Acura today to try and get my lower control arm bushings replaced cause it has been torn. They told me that the part is covered under my warranty but since I'm lowered they aren't going to cover me. Anyone have any luck with the other dealers in socal?

Unless there is a clause in the ext warranty that says you can't modify the car, they need to prove that lowering the car caused the damage. if so, put it back to stock and take it to another dealer.

Putting my car back to stock suspension would be the last thing I would want to do. Too much of a hassle. I'm just hoping to come across a dealer that would be friendly to the modding community. lol

lowering did cause damage to/put stress on the control arm.
OP needs to suck it up and buy it.

putting the car back to stock is a hassle but that's the only way to get it done for free under warranty. i'd do it. =]

Yeah that's what I'm starting to think is the only option.

Im probably gonna go check out another dealer before doing so though.

Sorry dude, you gotta pay to play....

If a dealership does pay for you, that'd be awesome though, lol.

In my experience the dealer won't cover it unless they did the suspension work in the first place. On my first CL it was the suspension was done by Valencia Acura at the time and when I had problems they would cover it but if the dealer didn't do the work they won't cover it under warranty. Let us know if you have some luck with another dealer.

UPDATE

I got these fixed at south coast acura. But I did raise my car to at least a two finger gap as requested by the service manager, very chill and helpful guy. and Raising the car is a lot better than putting the whole stock suspension back.

-lower control arm bushings
-side mirror not tilting down smoothly
-power steering pump
-front and side motor mounts

If any of you guys do bring in your car make sure to fill out and answer the survey that Acura gives you and put in a good word. Good reviews means bonuses for the workers. and plus its always good to do someone a favor when they help you out.

I still need to bring in my car cause my pulley tensioner is making noises but we didn't want to do so many warranty repairs at once or the acura adjuster is gonna come check out the car and we don't want that guy seeing all the mods.

I forgot to add

They also gave me a loaner car. Some of the dealers are very stingy in giving loaner cars. For example Sierra Acura said I needed to have my car serviced for a week or something in order to have a loaner car provided and they said its Acura rule. .

South Coast gave me a loaner car and they finished my car pretty quickly too. IIRC I gave them my car on a Friday and it was done by Tuesday.
