I have aftermarket parts, anyone know any place for cars like mine to pass the test?

Are you required to go to a STAR station? I'm interested to see how these new smog rules play out.

 

same like any other smog.

star system BS.. lol smogged my miata early march at a star station since I got called to go to one..

they do the same shit they would on a regular smog

besides... the STAR smog isn't required unless your car is one of those that would regularly fail the tests or are known to have excessively high emissions level from their history databases... and i don't think the majority of CA residents who drive TL around don't make them.. "race car" lol.....

 

to the OP, what mods do you have on that would require a "hook up"

They have tighter OBD test requirements (they smog hybrids now!) and they eliminated the tailpipe and fuel cap tests for post-1999 vehicles (but they have exceptions to this: they labeled my friend's 2001 Audi A4 as a gross-polluter requiring him to do the pre-2000 testing. )

These changes are rolling though this year as smog shops update their equipment and procedure.

I'm wondering if moving away from tailpipe testing will affect the visual inspection at all.

Hey guys, my '07 TL-S with full RV6 (HFPC 200 cell-count, j-pipe, catback) is due for a smog test as well. I'm around the downtown Los Angeles area... Any ideas?
