Got my front bumper scratched - Need good body shop
Hi,
So I went to pick my friend from the airport, parked my car to put his bags in the trunk and suddenly who car shook. A BMW x5 while trying to park in front of me scratched my front driver side bumper corner while entering the parking spot.. luckily the bumper didn't come off or anything just some scratches, paint chipped off and some around the fog light. No damage to the metal panels.
Exchanged our Info and he called up later asking me to get the estimate and his insurance will take care of it.
Does any one know good body shop around sunnyvale CA who can do a good reliable job??
I haven't spoken to my insurance company so far, should my Insurance company be involved?

I heard sometimes if the damage isn't really "all that". Like if its just a scratch or chip paint; insurance companies won't do anything about it, but I don't know.
If its just chipped paint. That can be easily fixed by yourself. I know this good place in San Francisco, CA, but I'm not sure if you are willing to go that far.

Yeah San Francisco will too far, given the fact they only work on weekdays. So getting time off from work would be more expensive than the repair itself.
I wish it could have been fixed easily, but it sure does need a paint job since the scratches and chips are bit deep and the 1st coat of paint is chipped off reveling the black plastic..

[QUOTE=HondaOnWORKS;12317916]Not always true. Insurance is about profits, and they don't profit if they waste money on a little damage. If its just like a bit of chipped paint; the insurance company won't do anything about it. I had a buddy that got bumper tapped before, and the insurance didn't do anything about it, because the damage was too small. So now when he gets bumper tapped he just ask for straight up cash.
In the case where the other party is at fault and accepting responsibility the insurance company will always pay no matter what (unless they think its fraud).
In other cases where its the owner of the cars fault and they have (in this case) collision coverage if the damage costs less than your deductible then the insurance company won't pay anything the insurance company will only pay amounts over the cost of your deductible. Or if the owner of the car is at fault and he doesn't have collision then the insurance company won't pay for the damage.
