Hi:

I'm not joining for my sake, but for my girlfriend who bought a 97 CL that has been abused to hell and back, and as a car enthusiast who researches a CEL ASAP and detail my car every 6 months to seeing her good car in such condition ... I've fixed at least 3 of 6 problems, which leaves me the keyless remote missing its battery door, stopped odometer, and passenger window needing a new regulator. I will endeavor to search all these problems as I am no stranger to forums, but would appreciate any help that can be offered.

 

Speaking of the keyless issue, where can I buy the cover, or does anyone have one for sale? I joined this forum almost exclusively for that problem alone, but can't post a WTB. Thanks!

Welcome. You should be able to post on the 1st gen CL forums. https://acurazine.com/forums/1g-cl-1997-1999-56/ The only thing you shouldn't be able to do since you are new is private message. If you have problems with posting on the regular forums then you should pm an admin about the issue.


To answer your questions. i don't think you can actually buy the remote door by itself and you can buy the whole remote and the other things you need to replace like the odometer and regulator on ebay or contact one of our many OEM part vendors who would probably give you a discount for being a AcuraZine member.

 

Well, I was kinda clinging onto the hope of somebody having a spare remote laying around LOL... Also I've seen complete generic shells being sold on eBay for $15 but don't know how well that works. I'll look into the other factors, thank you! Either way, this forum is still more helpful and engaging than Acura World

 

Have you asked the dealer if they have spare pieces laying around? Sometimes dealers will have it. And check with Honda also.
