Inspire fog light retrofit info!

Would ANYONE care to offer me the dimensions of the Accord inspire fog light housing so that i can properly install a projector inside them? It is driving me crazy that i have XENON XENARC 4300k on my main headlights and then i just have a DULL OLD "housing project" down below.... Don't get me wrong, i love the look of the Inspire fog lights, However, from far away my XENARCs look phenomenal, and then you see the supposed "yellow HIDs" but they look DULL BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT PROPERLY BEING PROJECTED AND to top it all off, the throw of yellow light is not getting optimal beam pattern so the lights are mainly just for show at this point and i want a much more cleaner and more precision look.

fyi- 3 years ago i was forced to remove my stock bulbs from the car due to electrical issues, i went with cheap HIDs thinking there was nothing else that would give me that throw of light and beam pattern and blue/purple flicker that comes on the Lexus, Audi, Acura, etc. Its all in the bulbs, and a CLEAR lens helps as well. but if anyone is in the market to get new bulbs DO NOT GO CHEAP.... spring for some
XENON XENARCs ....they look classy, elegant, and i can finally see!!

thanks in advance!

Hope this helps, I just popped one off real quick to take measurements as accurately as I could.

Below is reference on how it sits in the bumper. I have an 05 6MT so the passenger side will require removing the two lower horns and hooking them up elsewhere on the frame or else the passenger side Inspire light will not fit. Not sure if the 5AT has the horns or any other components in the way. The driver side has the intake resonator box in the way but I was able to leave that be and cram the light in along with bulb harness.

Below you are seeing about 7" on one side and 8.5" on the other.

Below shows full height of the lens itself, keep in mind the rear housing itself is shorter. Lens measures 3.5" high at max.

Below is a reference pic of the rear. The lens body itself sits perched in the rear housing so and there is a screw attached to a spring to adjust up and down aiming. Unfortunately, I don't want to disassemble the spring mechanism and risk not being able to put back together.

Below, I've tried getting good lighting to show the max height of the inside of the lens body since you mentioned you are planning to retrofit projectors. From what I gather, 2.5" max is the height you have to work with.

Below is max depth, at a straight shot from bulb hole, to the inside of the lens. Looks like about 3.75" from inside of lens to rear of lens housing and 4.5" from inside of lens to rear or exterior housing.

Hope this helps out with your project

THE ONES I GOT I THINK ARE 2.5IN TALL AND IDK HOW LONG. PROLLY 5.5in or something like that... CAN ANYONE PROVIDE ME WITH A LINK TO A PROJECTOR THAT WILL FIT INSIDE THIS HOUSING. are you going to put a shroud or something to cover it? It is going to leak a lot of light.

Honestly the Shroud that came with it did not fit it was too big so I would have to customize a shroud to fit in there it's too small of a space. I really thought that the shrouds look tacky themselves if I could find one that has a black chrome finish that actually fit then I would be inclined to install it. Any ideas? I didn't see that much light leaking out of it but would I get a better concentration in a better cut off if there were a shroud? And the throw of light whenever I have them installed looks the exact same (matching) as the D2S(phillips) with the clear lens I put in my main headlight. As far as the projector that fit the matchbox 2.0 was the only ones that fit in there.

Use cardboard and paint it black. No one will known. Or cut up aluminium sheets and get it to fit.

Yep, would look a LOT better if you painted those chrome bits black and hide them. Good job overall.

Finally I have completed the install of the inspire for lights. The day has come. Another important thing I wanted to mention is that I DID fix the shroud situation, you all were right. I was letting alot of light out of the sides. However the shroud that came with the matchbox projectors were too big. So I had to fashion one out of tinfoil. Doesn't look the best but it can Barely be seen. Take a look and let me know what everyone thinks.

Last thing, I ordered the 3000k bulbs just to see if I like these or the yellow better.. Pics up soon as I receive them from RETROFIT SOURCE.

no im not going to be able to make it unfortunately, i did look into it but it fell on the same weekend i have some ish to do in Fort Worth unfortunately...

Last show i went was the one they hold in Rosenberg and i left really late by myself cuz my friends were lame as F.. as im driving i reallize " hmmm i wonder if i drive an hour away will they still be there?" i didnt take that into account when i left *stupid*

to answer that question i pulled up and i saw a tumble weed flying by. hahaha they had all left and it was over at 11 and i got there at 12am.

that was 2 months ago and the last show i went to was the sunday exotic cars at the plaze by the gallaria area about a year before that.
