Price is great IMO. I wonder if they're going to saturate the market or if it'll be a commodity.
I hope they fill the market so I can get one for a little less.
Interesting story about a white CGT owner who attempted a 3500 mile journey to the gathering only to break down. Was sadly unable to make it due to a passing.
apparently there is an "issue" with the construction of these vehicles.....
All of you Suburban, Escalade, Denali, Tahoe people should pay very much attention to this picture! This is ladder frame construction and this can happen! There is a reason why other "luxury"' suvs are somewhat smaller at a similar price point. The Audi Q7 and Mercedes GLS use unibody construction.

Im sure it will be like Jeep and other Srt models...theyll be out there but people will hang on to them and values will hold.
It sure looks like there's a crease under the front door. If I has to hazard a guess, I'd think they put the lift arms under the frankfurter body and not on the bun frame when they picked it up. I imagine the 6 bolts (or however many) were just strong enough to hold it for a bit... until they didn't.
Body was off for repairs to drivetrain. Must not have centered it correctly on trying to get it mated together. Shifted in air and kapooya shits everywhere
Anyone else feel a bit under-whelmed by the SSC and the Venom GT?
I think the definition of "production car" is absolutely bogus for those two manufacturers. They are specially built cars out of small time operations and not nearly the same as even relatively smaller car names like McLaren and of course Ferrari/Porsche.
Especially the Venom GT. It seems like a heavily modified Lotus chassis with other performance parts mixed in. Like a highly built kit car. The wiki page even says that for the road registration it is considered a modified Lotus Exige.
I agree. Plus, John Hennessey is a douche canoe of the highest degree. He's the closest thing to Bernie Madoff in the tuner world.
Yeah he's got quite a rep alright.
But I guess the clientele that can drop 7 figures on a car are also the kind of people you probably don't want to piss off with stupid shenanigans....lest he wants a team of high power lawyers raining hellfire down on his ass.....probably the reason we don't see any ugly issues with the Venom GT productions...
I think that's only for the short range one no?
That production doesn't begin until November
The way I read it was that if you ordered one today, that would be the soonest you'd get one.
Pre-orders are being built on a higher optioned first, base later (fall 2017) timeline.
Looking at a couple articles, seems that the $35k Model3 is a fantasy & most will be $40k+

Ah okay.. so the long range ones they're building now already have a ticket.
Maybe the Model S will drop in price a bit in the slightly used category
I'm not a douche who needs bullshit. I'd get the long range one with no options in black.
So you're already up to $45k lol. I'd be at least getting premium pack, autopilot, and longer range. Black is fine but that's still just above $50k for this thing...
There really aren't any frivolous options on this thing as it is. Most people want the Autopilot because it's a signature feature of the car. At this point, it should just be standard like Honda Sensing is.
Hopped in my car at O'Hare and got onto the expressway, everything seemed tranquil and smooth and quiet, just taking it easy. Engine purring along at around 1700 rpm. Checked speed-- 85 mph.
