Television: The Grand Tour (Clarkson, Hammond, and May Amazon Project)

Apparently Richard Hammond has made a gay joke on the show and now the internet is mad. Haven't watched episode 6 yet so don't know if that is the episode that it is refering too. Didn't want to watch to find anything out from it.

BBC must be kicking themselves now....
I wish they could make the "outside" section longer. I am sure they have enough leftover footage to do so.
Too much talking and non sense. It is fun, here and there but half of the show is bitching back and forth gets old very quickly.

Finally finished catching up on the Series.
Overall thoughts:
I have to agree with nowind, we need more of those outside segments. I really thoroughly enjoyed their South African escapades in the Beach buggies..
Nix the American
Nix Celebrity Brain Crash
Make more episodes

^ Agree on all parts. The celebrity segment has to go immediately . I think they were trying to hard with the American. No need for him to be a communist. Also the track sucks but I think theyre stuck with it

Overall, the series turned out well. They hit a flat spot in the first few episodes after that first, but the content got better as the season progressed. Ditto on the American has to go or just shut up. I get the humor. It's just not funny. Not even a little bit.

A guy with no arms can drift better with his feet than I can with my hands. Also I loved the bit with Seamus and James. Seamus' banter was great.
Anyhow yea, love the series, I agree with everyone else. American driver comments are not funny and unnecessary. Celebrity brain crash also needs to go.
Also I think someone else mentioned it earlier but I wish they would loosen up on the acting. When they are doing the 3 car tests it would be nice to see some genuine reactions to the cars mixed in with the scripted and overly done, your car is shit mine is better.

Richard Hammond in motorbike crash: Host of Top Gear involved in serious accident
TV HOST Richard Hammond was knocked out in his second horror crash while filming.
The Grand Tour star and former Top Gear host hit his head coming off a motorbike in a remote part of Africa, The Sun reports.
Richard almost died in a 463km/h collision on Top Gear 11 years ago.
Hammond’s co-star Jeremy Clarkson said of his friend’s horror motorbike crash: “He really did hurt himself quite badly.”
Hammond, 47, was knocked out after falling from the bike and hitting his head.
He lay unconscious on the road in remote Mozambique, miles from medical help.
But, asked if his friend went to hospital, Clarkson quipped: “We don’t do hospitals.”
The crew for The Grand Tour raced to Richard’s aid, mindful he suffered serious brain damage in the accident 11 years ago.
It is not known if he was wearing a helmet in the latest drama.
A show source said: “Richard was travelling quite fast when he came off. It caused instant horror on set.
“There was a lot of concern.
“If his injuries had been serious it wouldn’t have been easy to get medical attention.
“It’s very remote there and facilities are basic.”
Clarkson, 57, and co-star James May, 54, joined the show’s medic at the scene.
The source added: “The lads are known for having a laugh on set but Richard’s previous accident is fresh in their minds. They were all shaken by the latest incident.
“But now they know Richard is fine they are back to jokes and banter.”
The accident is still expected to feature in the second series of the Amazon Prime motoring show later this year.
The trio flew to Mozambique a fortnight ago.
Father-of-two Hammond was in a coma for two weeks in 2006 after a jet-powered car he was piloting for Top Gear crashed at 463km/h.
Its right tyre blew as he tried to set a land speed record at RAF Elvington in the UK.
He was flown to hospital in Leeds. Richard later revealed he suffered depression, paranoia and memory loss due to brain damage.

The lingering effects are pretty scary. Can't imagine he wants to stop doing what he is doing because he seems to genuinely like it. Glad he hasn't been hurt worse

Damn, I hope he's okay

Richard Hammond escaped crashed car seconds before being 'incinerated'
“When they saw the wreckage on fire they thought Richard was dead. It was really bad,” Wilman told the Sunday Mirror. “If Richard had been a few seconds slower getting out, he would have been incinerated.”
“They were staggered he had got out of it alive, because there was just nothing left,” he added.
Hammond was taken by air ambulance to a nearby hospital but suffered only a fracture to his knee. Wilman said the presenter was “very shaken” by the accident and was being kept in for observation. “He has been very lucky. It’s a miracle really and certainly another one of his lives gone,” he said.
The crash happened when Hammond was racing the electric car along the Hemberg Hill Climb, a one-mile-long course that climbs 157 metres (515ft). The Rimac Concept One car he was driving has a 1,224-horsepower motor and can reach speeds of up to 220mph.

Glad to see he made it out alive. That car is toast. Hopefully we find out what happened during the season. I wonder if they will show the crash footage too.

Glad he escaped with relatively minor injury!
No he should not stop doing what he loves to do with the people he loves. He just needs to chill and stop pushing the car too hard. Let the stunt man handles the dangerous stuff.
He has to remember, he aint no Stig.
