Filming for 1st studio episode on Wed., Oct. 25, so that means 1st episode of season 2 to air on Fri. Oct. 27?

https://www.applausestore.com/book-the-grand-tour

Looks like that's going to be their studio spot for season 2 since they're not going to have a different location every episode like in season 1.

The Grand Tour is no longer going on tour with the hosts cased in the Cotswolds - BBC Newsbeat

The Grand Tour is no longer going on tour with the hosts cased in the Cotswolds

27 Sep 2017

Amazon has announced big changes to The Grand Tour, which is no longer going on tour.

The show travelled to nine countries in its first series with a huge white tent in tow - but now, that tent will stay put in the UK.

Amazon said it was because of the "sore joints, struggling lungs, and combined age of 158" of hosts Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond.

Richard Hammond escaped death in a car crash (again) when filming this year.

The show will now be based on a millionaire's estate in the Cotswolds - the same place Wilderness Festival takes place.

It's 10 miles from Jeremy Clarkson's country home, Diddly Squat Farm, meaning an easy commute him every morning.

The new filming base is also 43 miles from The Grand Tour's test track at RAF Wroughton in Wiltshire.

However, the three main hosts will still travel.

Season two locations include Croatia, Mozambique, Dubai, Spain, Switzerland, Colorado and New York.

Filming will take place over 10 days between 25 October and 19 December.

The change comes after Richard Hammond escaped death (again) when his car crashed and burst into flames while filming series one and Jeremy Clarkson went to hospital with pneumonia.

Andy Wilman, executive producer of The Grand Tour, said: "We'll keep the studio in one place, and given how accident-prone they are at the minute, that can only be a good thing."

That promo is so awesome. I can hardly wait for season 2. That is the only reason I got Amazon Prime.

The important details:

Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May return to Amazon Prime Video for season 2 of The Grand Tour on 8 December 2017.

Damn. That's a much later start than season 1 and much later than when they said it would be released in Oct.

I get some of it was due to non-compete type stuff with the BBC, but a few of the bits were just odd & didn't seem to work; IE 'Celebrity Brain Crash' & the 'Stig' driver.

I hope they can find a new track..... the GT track is very weak... it reminds me of a home made track in the country side.

https://jalopnik.com/mike-skinner-is-out-on-the-grand-tour-season-2-1820251234

Viewers of the inaugural season of The Grand Tourwill remember the show’s own version of The Stig as NASCAR driver Mike Skinner: The American. But it seems like for the upcoming second season of the show, Skinner is out.

Taking to Twitter yesterday, Skinner tweeted that he will not be appearing on TGT season two because, as he was told, his “character wasn’t developed.”

I’m speculating a bit here, but as the new season is set to air on Dec. 8 and Skinner is tweeting about it one month before it does, it could mean that he was either dropped at the last minute or he wasn’t allowed to publicly announce it until now. Either way, we won’t be seeing the spangly American on the show come winter.

I have mixed feelings about this. On one hand, it was rather nice to see an American on a show that stars extremely British hosts, kind of like the flavor that Matt LeBlanc brings to Top Gear now.

On the other, I wasn’t thrilled with how Skinner’s character was portrayed. His hatred of import cars and undying love for fat-displacement V8s felt very heavy-handed and stereotypical. Perhaps this was funny for a non-American audience, but for me it felt tired and stale. Like, “Oh, look, here’s a twangy American NASCAR driver and he doesn’t even know what BMW stands for.” Low-hanging fruit, guys.

Anyway, I’m interested in seeing how the team will now cover the lap times portion of the show now, if they decide to keep that segment.

Mike Skinner and Celebrity Brain Crash were the worst parts of TGT. Their Conversation Street segment could use some improvement too.

Clarkson: GTR threw out his neck
May: Tossed off the donkey & broken arm, head injury in the roadster/middle east episode
